Comedy - Director: Susie Dietter, Wesley Archer, David Silverman, Mark Kirkland, Jim Reardon - Original Language: English - Classification: 12 years and over
Advantages: Hilarious Disadvantages: Can be a push watching it the 5,000 time
..."Life Of Brian" sees the amazingly funny MontyPython team (John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, GrahamChapman and Terry Gilliam) take to the big screen for a spoof on the life of Christ.
Brian has been born on the same day and just next to the very stable that saw the coming of the Messiah. This is only the beginning of a whole host of events of mistaken identity and comical happenings.
Chapman, taking the lead role as Brian with everyone else playing just about all the other parts from Centurians to members of the People's Front Of Judea, from Prisoners to aliens, "Life Of Brian" is comic genius at it's very best - it makes you laugh, it offends and it' full of lines you can use at work.
Python was always at the front line of comedy, but this surpasses anything they have ever done. A true classic from the opening...

...Finally a DVD set that takes the darkest ages in history and turn them into the funniest 5 hours and 45 minutes of your life! As a big fan of the MontyPython series, these movies are absolutely fantastic. What I love about each of these films are the way these guys don't hold back on their antics. Every time I watch these films it amazes me how cleverly GrahamChapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin are able to quickly change characters throughout the films and still manage to keep audiences in stitches.
This DVD Includes:
Life of Brian, a story about the life of one man who was born the same time as the Messiah and in the end is mistaken for the Messiah after getting involved in a new religious movement to get rid of the Romans from Judea.
The Meaning of Life. Ever wondered about the meaning...

Advantages: A strong cast. Disadvantages: can't think of a single thing.
...The life of Brian is (I think) the only film of MontyPython's I have seen. It's crazy. It's fantastic. GrahamChapman plays Brian, an unwitting fool who accidently forms his own religion/cult thing. The film loosly mirrors the life of Christ, only funnier, obviously. Through a series of mishaps while running away from the Romans, Brian accumulates a following of 'ordinary' towns people. All the other 'Flying circus cast play various characters. That's woman as well as men. One of the funniest moments, as well as the most memorable one has to Eric Idle's 'always look on the bright side of life' while hanging on a cross waiting to die. Classic....
