This is a really great family movie that the adults will enjoy just as much as the kids. This CGI movie is a loving and playful homage to all the 50' and 60's "B" movie monster flicks most notably The Blob, The Fly, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, Mothra and Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman. All are brought to life by some very impressive CGI and brilliant vocals from Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd and best of all Seth Rogan as Bob The Blob. The comedy is quick and witty with some great nods to the classic Sci-fi movies including Close Encounters that leads to an hysterical outburst of Axel.F. This film has some outstanding action scenes that could even rival Michael Bay including a show stopping and very funny destruction of the Golden Gate bridge. The DVD has lost the slight wow factor, as the cinema version I saw was in 3D, but this does not stop this from being one of the best family movies of the year, that can stand shoulder to shoulder with Pixar's masterly UP. This film is fantastic treat, as both kids and adults will enjoy the jokes, and the film never fails to entertain. Monsters Vs Aliens is bound to be one of the best family films this year. Advantages: Its might be a good one if you just want a killing time movie. Disadvantages: Too typical, it could be a great one, but it become a poor one.
