Monsters inc was a film produced by Pixar animation studios on February 8, 2002. The film was a massive hit and the fourth film Pixar had created.
The film is a computer generated film and is about a place called Monstropolis. This is a place that only monsters live and they generate their power by scaring children and using their screams a source of power. The monsters use doors in a factory that enter children's bedrooms and the monsters then scare the children, make them scream and they then collect the screams in a container to use for power.
The monsters believe that children themselves are toxic, and go to great lengths to prevent contact; should a monster be touched by a child or their belongings they need to decontaminated. The company (monsters inc) holds a top scare award and employee Sulley holds this record. He is friends with Mike Wazowski and the pair always manage to generate the most power. A fellow employee Randall is jealous of their success and Mike and Sulley catch him one night creepy round the factory and messing about with children's doors.
To cut a long story short a small very cute child called Boo ( named by Sulley who becomes very attached) enters the monsters world via her door which sets alarm bells ringing when the monsters find out because they fear for their safety. Mike and Sulley on the over hand become very attached to her and do anything in their power to help her return home through her own door.
The film in my opinion is excellent. I think this is Pixar's best film. I love the characters. It is such a well put together film and the whole story is brilliant . The animation looks so real. I really like the character Sulley, he is a large blue (with pink spots) monster and his fur looks so real. I thought the bit where the wind was blowing his fur was great and looked very lifelike. The little girl in the movie (Boo) is really cute. I fell in love with her character as soon as I watched the film. I like the way she talks.

The film lasts for 91 minutes. It also won various awards including an Oscar.
Both my children also love this film and think it's as good as I do. The plot is great and the film has a lovely ending. I am not surprised that Pixar did not make a 2nd Monsters inc as the first was just great and left everyone feeling very satisfied and happy.

Advantages: Everybody likes monsters inc, whether your an oap or a toddler it is suitable for the whole family. This film has alot of funny moments and has hidden jokes in for the older audience. Disadvantages: This film can drag on a little and it is east to predict what is going to happen next.
