Monsters Inc is an outstanding creation by the 7 time Academy Award winning Disney Pixar animation team. They dreamed up hugely popular films such as Toy Story and Finding Nemo. Monsters Inc is actually Pixars fourth animated feature brought out by the team. The movie was released in 2001and was nominated for many awards.

The movie tells the story of a world of Monsters that generate their power supply by the screams of human children. Monster Incorporated is the company that employs the monsters and provide the environment in which to gather the screams. This tale is of a friendship between two monster friends. Sulley; a huge, furry blue monster; who happens to be the cities best child scarer, and his working partner Mike; the small, one-eyed, green monster who helps him out with all the paperwork. Together they come across a lost little girl who should not be in the monster world as they are contagious to the Monster population, and if she is found by the Child Detection Agency, she will be destroyed.
Mike and Sulley set out to help her back home to where she belongs, but not without hinderence from the creepy monster after Sulley's title of Top Scarer; Randall and a seemingly corrupt Incorporation.
The voice of Big man john Goodman of US comedy Rosanne, livens Sulley, and Billy Crystal lends his vocals to Mike.
I found the imagination behind all of the characters in this film to be amazing, and the effects are ground-breaking; the fur on Sulleys back moves in the wind and when he runs etc! The two main characters are lovable, if not completely different from each other.
The DVD hosts lots of added extras on a bonus disc, including; 2 short animated films by Pixar, behind the scenes footage, the history of the Monsters' World, artwork and film-makers commentries. The way in which the bonus features are clever also, split into two categories; For Humans Only and For Monsters Only.
This is definitely a film to keep and that can be watched over and over again. The music is also brilliantly suited to the film, written by the greatness of Randy Newman (the voice behind many of the songs from Toy Story). It runs for 88 minutes, is PAL colour, in widescreen format and is deemed Universal.
