...In an isolated monastery atop the Tibetan Mountains exists an order of monks with a grave purpose. For centuries, the monks have protected an ancient scroll, which is destined never to fall into the hands of mankind. The scroll contains scriptures that are so powerful they could enable the owner to turn the planet into paradise or a living hell. With each passing of a sixty-year period, the scroll passes into the hands of a new protector, who is identified once he/she has completed three tasks. Advantages: You can rest your brain for 99 minutes

...Some days I return home from the office very tired, open the little panel at the back of my head, remove my brain, place it into a thimble next to me, and put an action film on to give my eyes something to do. Being a fan of martial arts films and comic books since childhood, this film that combines both, seemed the ideal fare for me. BULLET PROOF MONK (2003) stars established actors Chow Yun-Fat (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and The Replacement Killers) and Sean William Scott (Evolution, and American Pie) and actress Jaime King (Blow, and Slackers), and marks the film directorial debut of Paul Hunter, who has previous worked on music videos and TV ads. ...In this epic film Bulletproof Monk star Chow Yun-Fat (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Sean William Scott (American Pie) and Jaime king (Sin City). The film Bulletproof monk is based on a comic book about a Tibetan monk, who taught a street kid how to protect a scroll. The film lasts approximately 99 minutes on DVD format and comes with English subtitle features for the hearing impaired. I last watched this film around a year ago with some family members (aged 12 and over). The nameless monk (Chow Yun-Fat) duty is to protect the scroll that holds the key to infinite power. Who ever reads the scroll has the chance to turn the world into a leaving hell or heaven.
