...that crime and murder features heavily in the series, it is really light-hearted and fun, shows great community spirit and takes the p%$s out of 'incomers'. If you're looking for something complicated, then this is not for you. Most of the crimes have obvious solutions that even a child could guess, but it cheers me up and sometimes that is all that I ask for.
There is a hint of the supernatural sometimes, which I generally do not like, but again, it seems to fit in here. I can see some similarities with Monarch of the Glen. Indeed, like Monarch of the Glen, one of the greatest pleasures is the setting - up by the Kyle of Lochalsh and Plockton. The scenery around this area is beautiful as I know from first-hand experience and it is shown off at its best here. I'm sure that tourism increased enormously during this series.

Advantages: A good UK Crime Series. Disadvantages: This isn't going to be to everyones taste.

Not only did this become popular viewing for a lot of the public at the time, one episode where he sang with a co-star (Jerome Flynn) catapulted them into the charts with a cover version of Unchained Melody.
He eventually set up his own production company called Coastal Productions who are now responsible for producing Wire in the Blood.
Simone Lahbib (who my partner and I run a website about - www.simonelahbib.net) is a Scottish Actress who was best known for a role in the ITV drama, Bad Girls, which she was involved in for 3 series.
Since then, Simone has managed to gain roles in a number of high profile productions, most notably Monarch of the Glen on the BBC. However, she became pregnant between filming of series 6 and 7, and it was decided she was not going to continue with the series7 as had been planned.
