Review: As ever, Depardieu out-acts everybody (City Limits, 08/05/2007)
Simply magnifique... very funny, very tender (Daily Mirror, 08/05/2007)
Advantages: It's picturesque and beautiful, with brilliant music Disadvantages: It's just quite slow and not much happens
...throughout the film, but I didn't mind at all because it was a fantastic tune.
You may have noticed there was a lot of the word "nice" in that review. The film is the movie equivalent of hot chocolate: it's warm and sweet and leaves you with a warm glow inside. You definitely will come out of it thinking, "aww".
It's just that nothing much happens. I don't mind slow-burning films which have a powerful message, or that have some kind of subtle effect on your mind, but this film is just plain slow, and it felt inconsequential. A story can be as nice and funny and sweet as it wants, but if it doesn't have any major dramatic story, it unfortunately can't really be a great film - and I don't think this is.

Advantages: Well produced and thought out Disadvantages: No live performance of her James Bond hit
...This is a well thought out DVD. You get the live performance of hit songs like Steve Mcqueen and my personal favourite All I wanna do and also an insight into what it's like being a touring artist - very hard work!. Sheryl is multi talented and can play both the acoustic guitar and the electric guitar well. She is also the only person I know who makes a living by shouting into a microphone. The DVD inset is well designed as I the DVD cover - I wish more artists would pay more attention to this. On the down side I would have loved to see her perform Tomorrow Never Dies from the James Bond theme of the same name which she co wrote with Mitchell Froom and was a big hit. She was right though to quit her day job....

Advantages: Absolutely Fantastic Disadvantages: May take a while to watch
...I heard about Heroes quite a while ago from a friend in the states. After waiting a while and watching a few trailers on the show I couldn't wait for it to come on the television. So as soon as it came onto the Sci-Fi channel I began to watch it. I loved it right from that start. The fact that there are so many different characters all wanting something. The characters powers are always interesting especially Peter Petrelli's. The mix of effects and a great storyline makes the show work so well. It leaves you wanting more after each episode.
Main Story
The main story line of the first season is "Save the cheerleader save the world".
After watching a few episodes it makes more sense. Some scenes may be too violent for young children as it can involve horrific deaths.
In England, the new second series has started on BBC 2...
