Quick review of Momento
Possibly one of the most well written and directed films of the decade.
Momento follows the life of Leonard Shelbey, who has short term memory loss, as he trys to find his wife’s killer. A great film that keeps you entertained right to the end, and leaves you asking so many questions that you'll watch it again!
Stunning performances from all the main characters and 10/10 for originality!
A Must See Film! ...

Advantages: Miranda Richardson Disadvantages: None I can mention
This is a compelling story and one which will leave you asking questions throughout, but SO worth the watch and the subsequent discussion with friends. I am not entirely convinced that Ralph Fiennes was the most suitable choice for the lead but Miranda Richardson gives a sterling performance for her characters. The story is hard to fully describe but, like Momento, the plot becomes clearer as the film progresses. I assume the film did not cost too much to make (at least it looks that way and I'd find it hard to take if it cost in the millions!) but the strong character performances and dramatic soundtrack keep you locked to see Ralph's past unravel and his current situation explained. Advantages: Great Acting, Direction, Plot Disadvantages: Slow Pace will turn off some people
After the success of his second feature Momento, Director Christopher Nolan took on a hollywood re-make of a little seen norwegian film called Insomnia. Some may have questioned this as a strange choice for his first studio film but given the talent involved and the nature of the story it's not hard to see why Nolan would attempt it.
Al Pacino headlines as LAPD detective Will Dormer, to get away from an internal affairs investigation he is sent to the small alaskan town of Nightmute to investigate the murder of a local girl. The town has the distinction of being in constant daylight which wreaks Dormer's chances of getting any sleep. When Dormer accidently kills his partner while trying to catch the girls killer he finds himself in a difficult position. The only person who knows he shot his partner is the girl's killer and soon it ...
