What I didnt like about the DVD, which accounts mainly for my paltry three stars is that some of the content is just OTT in the offensive stakes. The good points are that you get to see the comedians and guests in the time that is the pre-show; banter with each other and some members of the live audience. Some of this is extremely funny, especially Russell Howard who I think is personally under rated on the show due to the bigger personalities on the opposite team.
What I didnt like about the DVD, which accounts mainly for my paltry three stars is that some of the content is just OTT in the offensive stakes. Dont get me wrong; 'too hot for tv' gives it away but nothing could have prepared me for stuff that comes out of Frankie Boyle's mouth such as "that fu**ker has got cancer" when trying to guess a newspaper headline. There is enough footage from him alone to accumulate 2 hours of the 3 hour content.
I just get the feeling that this is very rushed together for the christmas period and that the content itself is actually quite poor. The main feature is only approx 1 hour long so price tags of over £15 would have a 'steer clear' warning message from me.
What could have been better would have been splitting the parts of the shows into the extras part, such as the "lines you wouldnt hear a commentator say" sort of thing. Each part of the show is different so this way people would be able to watch their favourite bits. The extras are actually just add ons from the mian feature. It might have also been good just to have had the original episodes on the DVD and then the extras could have been the outtakes/too hot for tv for each episode.
Overall, I would only recommend this DVD if your a huge fan of the series. this isnt a DVD to get into the show from as it is all over the place in terms of content. Also only buy if you are prepared to hear content about terrorists, illness, peaodophiles etc from Frankie Boyle and take it with a pinch of salt.
Advantages: Extras are incredibly funny, one of the best shows on TV Disadvantages: Quite abit of already seen footage
After hearing that there was a DVD based on my favourite comedy programme was available I decided it would be a good idea to give it a go. I got the DVD expecting it to be full of mostly out takes that would not be used in final edit of the show. Instead I was a little disappointed that for a large part of the film was filled with parts that had already been aired and the actual extras you would expect came after the parts that had already been aired. ... ...any person who had seen most of the episodes had already heard. The extras were also quite rude, which is why they probably weren't aired, as there was a lot of 'f' and 'c' in many of the extras. Aside from the fact that much of the DVD featured parts that had already been seen, the rest of the extras were indeed very funny and I ended up in hysterics at many of the jokes. Also, I thought the DVD really did a lot of good for Andy Parsons and Russell ...

...of you who don't know, mock the week is a weekly political comedy panel show even though you wouldn't notice the political side of things as much as you would of other shows in its field! Advantages: Some of the funniest people on the planet on it Disadvantages: Some comments culd be offending to some people
This DVD is for people who can laugh at absolutely anything, the stuff in this DVD some of it can make you laugh so hard that you will miss the next line or the next joke. My favourite people in it are hugh dennis because his jokes are extremely funny and the faces and actions that he uses along with the jokes must make him one of the funniest men on the planet at the moment. Frankie Boyle is easily the best character in the DVD. This is because ... ...jokes about some of the harshest things. Sometimes his jokes are rude or even offending but you don't care because they are so funny, another thing about Frankie is that he always laughs in a really funny way and he can add a joke or say something funny about something randomly, hes the kind of guy you would love to have around you because laughing is good for you and if he was around you constantly you would be very healthy. i highly recommend this ...

Advantages: Comedy will crack you up Disadvantages: None whatsoever
Mock The Week is my favourite programme on tv. It has me in stitches every time i watch it so when my dad got this dvd off one of his mates and gave it to me i thought: "Yes, no more being down" because it is impossible to keep a straight face whilst watching this programme. In my opinion, everyone on this show is a comic genius, even the host Dara O Brian is funny. My personal favourite is Russell Howard. The actual dvd itself is 3 uncut episodes ... ...scenes that were just too rude, offensive or outrageous for BBC to have broadcasted.
Every time i watch this dvd i crack up. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone because for a price tag of about £20 it is well worth your money and you will never get tired of watching it. Even my little sister is hooked on this dvd.
If you're going through a bad time and are feeling down, this dvd will do wonders for you. ...

Advantages: great comical quiz show Disadvantages: none for me
what make the show as comically popular as it has become.
Personally, I can?t help but laugh at the way the panellist perform through the show, managing to bounce off each other with some fine one liners, comically slating each other, sometimes involving members of the audience? and even O?Briain gets some pasting as well, giving just as much as he gets?
In all, a brilliant comical look at some of the news from the week and if you enjoy watching the likes of shows such as ?have I got news for you? or even ?whose line is it anyway? then this is defiantly for you as the humour is the same for of quick witted dryness that makes such shows as popular as they are.

DVD Description
MOCK THE WEEK is a satirical TV show in which a panel of comedians put their own irreverent spin on the week's current affairs. Part of the programme's appeal lies in its unique format which combines elements of a panel show, stand-up comedy, improv, games, and role play. But the show would be nothing without the razor-sharp wit of its contestants; Dara O'Briain, Frankie Boyle, Hugh Dennis, Andy Parsons, and Russell Howard, among others. This release contains all the clips deemed 'unbroadcastable' for reasons of taste, decency, and sheer outrageousness!
