The Money Pit was released in 1986, and while the fashions and camerawork look dated, the basic premise hasn't aged- a struggling young couple suddenly find themselves without anywhere to live so they scrape up enough money to buy a house together.
However this house is suspiciously good, and it doesn't take long before it all goes wrong, and the house literally starts falling apart in a increasingly farcical manner.
This means of course that they have to get the builders and the plumbers in who mostly serve to make matters worse.
There are lots of nice, strange little touches and catchphrases running through the film.
My personal favourite moment (not a spoiler) is when Walter (Hanks' character) arrives at the house in a musical flasing light covered pizza delivery cab!
Tom Hanks manages to pull off ...
Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, the hilarious duo of White Men Can't Jump, reunite for the buddy-action-comedy Money Train. Unsurprisingly, their obvious on-screen chemistry rouses the biggest laughs here, but Doug Richardson and David Loughrey's badly written script and the uneven pacing of the direction overshadows the picture's funniest moments, making this a rather forgettable affair in a long list of movies of the same genre.
Money Train just tries to do too many things. On one hand, it feels like a romantic-comedy as it explores the relationship between the adopted brothers John (Snipes) and Charlie (Harrelson) and their squabbles over beautiful fellow cop, Grace Santiago (Jennifer Lopez). Then there's this subplot involving Charlie and his gambling habits and the money he owes to nightclub owner Donald Patterson (Robert Blake ...

Friends with Money is a 2006 romantic film released in the United Kingdom on May 26th 2006. The film was written and directed by Nicole Holofcener and stars Jennifer Anniston. Running time of the movie is eighty eight minutes.
Olivia is a single woman who is working hard as a maid in Los Angeles to scrape by on little income. Her three friends (and their husbands) , however are mega-rich ; the total opposite of Olivia , although each friend has their own problem. Basically this film is about a group of friends ; three rich , one poor , and you get an insight into their lives. That's all there is to the plot really.
Although there are only seven main characters in this film, I found that I couldn't connect with any of them. It had nothing to do with the fact that they were upper-class , just that as a viewer I don't think we had ...

Johnny Stewart (Damon Wayan) is small time scam artist who seems to stay one step ahead of the cops and two months behind on his rent. When he lays eyes on beautiful credit card executive Amber Evans (Stacey Dash), he lies his way into a job in the company mailroom to get closer to her.
