Advantages: A nice story, interesting Disadvantages: Some odd animation parts
I recently signed up to one of these sites where you can get DVD's sent to you in the post. Perfect as now I don't even need to leave the home to get new DVD's to watch! This time I got send Miss Potter. I had put this on my list as I was a fan of her books as a child. My sister had the whole little box set and I loved the stories. She also lived in later life in Windermere in the Lake District, which I have spent some time at as a child as my family lives very near the Lake District. This provided some more interest for me. The film was released in 2006 and has been available on DVD for a while now.
The story of Miss Potter is based around Beatrix Potter herself who is played by Renee Zellweger. It is based in the 1900's when Beatrix was in her 30's. It shows her in her quest to try and get her first story published about Peter ...
Advantages: Fun, nice story Disadvantages: Predictable
I first watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding a few years ago and although it hasn't become one of my favourite films, I do still watch it from time to time.
The film first came out in 2002 so has been around for quite a while now. The story of the film is based around a character called Toula Portokalos (Christina Eleusiniotis). Toula is from a greek family, who take the traditions of their culture very seriously. Her family own a resteraunt called 'Dancing Zorbas' where she works as a waitress. She is in her thirties and yet has never really done anything with her life. She is plain and no-one really notices her as she goes around her everyday life.
One day Toula decides to do something about her life and signs up to a college course. It isn't easy for her to persuade her Father Gus (Michael Constantine), but her Mother Maria ...
I have never really been a fan of action/detective/spy movies but I have heard so many gushes about this film that I just had to give it a try. Of course, I was extremely far from being disappointed. I love just about everything about Miss Congeniality! From Sandra Bullock?s pig-like snort to her awkwardness as she tried to become more feminine, to the pure chaos of the pageant, everything just appealed to me in the film. I have to say that despite the occasional burst of action scenes, Miss Congeniality remained light and preppy with an air of mystery. It was rather like reading an extremely fun Nancy Drew novel. Sandra Bullock was really at ease with the dualistic aspect of her role, and she very largely contributed towards the refreshing aspect of the movie as a whole.
The plot is about Gracie Hart, a tough, somewhat masculine ...
