responsible for apprehending would-be murderers before they can commit the deed. Given these parameters, it's not surprising that not a lot of characters die in this game--but there's still plenty of violence. Anderton himself is quite adept at pummelling other officers, guards, robots or anyone else who gets in his way. With a decent selection of kicks, punches and combinations (you can purchase additional combos when you collect enough dollar signs), Anderton can beat his way through at least the beginning levels. Unfortunately, you are unlikely to find much to enjoy in Minority Report, even if you liked the film. The elements that made the movie worthwhile--a compelling narrative wrapped up with a high-tech, futuristic bow--are glossed over or absent from the game. What's more, the gameplay is as redundant and simplistic as the graphics are uneven. Worse yet, the game does not allow you to save mid-level (some levels are long), and the instruction manual contains no information about how to play the game, forcing you to play through the training course. Minority Report does successfully represent some parts of the movie, such as the concussion gun, the jet pack and the spider bots. The first time you fire the concussion gun, for example, you'll be impressed with the way the space around Anderton ripples with the force of the weapon. Otherwise, the game levels are unimpressive and character animation is poor. Minority Report is not great at recreating the movie, and is even less successful when it breaks with it. --Bill Hummel

Advantages: action blockbuster Disadvantages: time travel style paradox
...Philip I. Dick short story, Minority Report tells the story of the head of pre-cognitive crime division John Anderton who is accused of a crime he hasn't yet committed. Set in Washington in the year 2054, 3 genetically altered humans can see into the future and give the pre-crime police details of crimes that will soon be committed. If just one of the 'precogs' sees a different outcome it is filed as a 'minority report'. But the time-travel style ... ...a murder, can the person be accused of the murder, which, because they have been arrested already can never take place? The prisons are likely to fill up quickly with this style of justice and the system, which is trialling well in Washington is beginning to receive opposition.
Anderton, played reasonably well by Cruise, is a big fan of the system, throwing himself into his work to get over the death of his son 6 years earlier, until his name comes ...

...MinorityReport is an exellent film starring Tom Cruz as a cheif police officer. Its set in the futur ( 2050 ) and is about a Washington pre-crime prevention unit who can see murders before they happen and then stop them. But what seems to be a perfect system isn't all that perfect as it seems as he finds out when the system predicts that he will commit murder. things get more complicated when this murder they presumably prevented continued to appear. The only negative point i would make is the gory murder scenes shown, athough it is infrequent, it was in my opinion too much. But overall this is a thrilling movie which has a constantly twisting story which keeps you glued to the screen....

Plot: The science-fiction thriller MINORITY REPORT, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise, is based on a short story by renowned writer Philip K. Dick. In the year 2054, in Washington, D.C., murder has been eliminated thanks to Precrime, a program that uses the visions of three psychics, called Precogs (an abbreviation for precognitive thinkers), to arrest and imprison would-be murderers before they have a chance to kill. Tom Cruise plays John Anderton, a Precrime enforcer who believes in the system for his own personal reasons years back his young son was abducted, and he has dealt with the loss by becoming a high-strung Precrime officer. The director of Precrime (Max von Sydow) is eager to take the program national, and feels threatened by an ambitious federal agent (Colin Farrell) who is bent on finding a flaw in the system. When Anderton finds himself accused of the future murder of a man he's never met, his faith in Precrime is instantly shaken. He goes on the run, and is trailed by the relentless Precrime police. In the tradition of BLADE RUNNER (also based on a Dick story), MINORITY REPORT is a dark, brooding vision of the future. Spielberg expertly mixes thrilling chase and suspense sequences (the best of which involves Anderton being pursued by eye-scanning mechanical spiders) and stunning special effects with a challenging look at society's willingness to sacrifice privacy and the notion of free will for convenience and security. MINORITY REPORT is a thought-provoking and exciting film that ranks with Spielberg's best.
