Mike Reid - Live At The London Palladium DVD

Advantages: Owning a DVD of one very funny guy
Disadvantages: No extras or anything

...Having been a fan of Jack Dee for a number of years I was delighted to recieve this DVD for one christmas. What I like most is his dry humour accompanied by his great wit. Ranging from his own experiences to general idiotic things that wind him up. One guy not afriad to speak his mind. So I've put the DVD in and start to watch it. The opening sequence is alright but doesn't give anything away, except a repitive voice shouting "Sir Jack Dee...." This I can put up with. BUT when the title menu appears and only shows two options I feel a bit disapointed. I'm given the choice of 'PLAY' or 'CHAPTER SELECTION'. No extras. Not the best start. When Jack gets going the DVD is worth while. I was in stitches listening to Jack talk about his 'show off methods of being sick', 'His dad being a DIY werewolf' or just his pure hatred of 'biro covered... Read review

...Lee Evans for those of you that have never heard of him is one of Britains best comedians and winner of The Perrier Comedy award in 1993, when he took the Edinbrugh festival by storm. He has stared in movies such as The Fith Element, Mouse Hunt, Theres Something About Mary, The Martins as well as his own BBC TV show So What Now. Lee's latest film is a thriller called Freeze Frame is due for release sometime in 2004. Also in 1993 Lee Evans achieved a life-long ambition by performing and selling out for two nights at The London Palladium Lee Evans Wired & Wonderful tour ends with the Live show at Wembley. It went straight into the top 20 in November 2003, just two days after release I had tickets too see Lee Evans live on this tour when he performed in Brighton and have to say that the DVD/Video of the show is a true reflection... Advantages: The best Iranian comic in the world!
Disadvantages: Do not get it if you've seen Omids 2007 TV Show

...This is the first ever DVD from Britain's best Iranian stand up comic. It takes place live at the London Palladium when he's standing up to a packed audience live. His comedy is the style of politics and ethnic minorities but as far away as comedy those subjects seem he manages to make them one of the funniest DVDs of last year. Also the way he can make himself and his culture so funny while still respecting it is what of a true comic genius. Plus you may think that a big fat Iranian comic could not do much physical stuff but that's where your wrong he does many physical comedy including his famous belly dance. This is where he says if the jokes don't go as he would like he covers it up by shouting belly dance and the music comes on and he dances away producing laughter from everyone within 20 meters of it.
