This film was hyped beyond belief upon initial release, and with the expectations it held, in order for it not to disappoint it had to be something really special. In my opinion, though, it is not something really special, it is just a pretty decent, but not great, action comedy. The special effects are brilliant, and the banter between the two leads, Smith and Jones (not that Smith and Jones!!) adds tremendously to the film. The appeal of the film is that the people in are the "Men in Black", who due to the likes of the X-Files, just ooze with mystery, and people want to know about them. For my liking it would have been nice if more Men In Black stuff happened in the film, just little things would have been nice, rather than going straight into the big story. That way we could have seen more of what their job is like. On the upside though, the dvd looks like it will be PACKED with extras, which is always a very good thing. This brings the score up a notch.
