Meet The Fockers is an American Romantic Comedy movie released in the United Kingdom on 28th January 2005. This film was directed by Jay Roach and stars Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. Meet The Fockers is the sequel to the film Meet The Parents. Running time of the movie is one hundred and ten minutes (ten minutes short of two hours).
I remember first watching this movie approximately three years ago when I stayed at a friend's house , although we were too busy gossiping to actually pay any attention to the actual film. So , the other night , beings as this film was on the television , I decided to watch it.
When Gaylord "Greg" Focker gets permission to marry his girlfriend Pam (whose dad happens to be an ex CIA agent) , the couple and Pam's parents along with Pam's little nephew go to Florida to visit Greg's parents Rob and Bernie. Greg's mother happens to be a sex therapist for the elderly , while Pam's parents are very 'traditional' and 'serious' although her mother is not half as serious and strict as her father. So what will happen when Pam's mother tries to find out about Greg's past ? Watch Meet The Fockers to find out!
First of all , one thing I find extremely funny about this movie , is the funny names the characters have. Obviously , the title of the movie is meant to sound similar to the "F" word and Greg's real name is Gaylord Focker.
I havn't seen the original movie ; Meet The Parents , yet I still managed to 'keep up' with this movie OK. Also , due to this I cannot say whether this film lives up to the success of the first movie or whether this one is better than the movie , however what I can say is that I enjoyed this movie so much that I have ordered a copy of the 'Meet The Parent's DVD.
I found this film extremely funny. One of my favourite scenes was when (without trying to give too much of the plot away!) Greg's mum gives Pam's dad one of 'her massages'. This scene really tickled me and I couldn't stop laughing.
If your looking for something to keep you entertained during these dark , cold nights , this DVD is perfect!
Thanks for reading! January 5th 2008 Xdonzx
