girlfriend Pam (Teri Polo) during a weekend stay at her parents' home. But here's the catch...he needs to ask her father first. Alas, the fur flies as Jack Byrnes, Pam's cat-crazy, ex-CIA father, played hysterically by Academy Award winner Robert De Niro, takes an immediate dislike to her less-than truthful beau. Greg's quest for approval gets seriously sidetracked as Murphy's Law takes over and a hilarious string of mishaps turns him into a master of disaster and total pariah in the eyes of the entire family...all except for his shell-shocked girlfriend, who can't believe she still loves her one-man wrecking crew. Meet The Parents, from the director of Austin Powers, is an uproarious blockbuster hit that bombards you with one laugh after another, as true love tries to conquer all, against all odds.Meet The Fockers:Domestic disaster looms for male nurse Greg Focker (Stiller) when his straight-laced, ex-CIA father-in-law (De Niro) asks to meet his wildly unconventional mum and dad (Streisand and Hoffman). Meet the Fockers is the follow on film to Meet the parents and in my opinion is just as good as the first.
Greg Fockers proposed to his girlfriend Pam and they are heading off for as weekend away which will see their two sets of parents meet for the first time. Greg is very nervous of what is going to happen as he sees his parents as slightly crazy.
Jack has slightly warmed to Greg since the first film and Greg is more relaxed being around him. When Pam and Greg arrive at her parents house Greg meets Little jack who is Pam's nephew. Jack is teaching Little Jack to talk using sign language and has a very weird way in teaching him. He even has a prosthetic boob which he wears breast feed him!
Greg, Pam and her parents set of in Jack's luxury RV motor home to meet his parents, Bernard and Roz Focker. Along on the journey are Little Jack and Jinx the cat. When they arrive at Focker Island they receive a very warm welcome from Greg's parents and all seems to be going well.
The Fockers show Pam's parents where they will be sleeping but Jack insists they will stay in their motor home, that is until Jinx the cat flushes the Fockers dog and the toilet is ruined! Therefore Jack and co have to stay in the house with Bernard and Roz.
The family settle down to a family meal where stories start to be told about Greg as a baby and they embarrass him further by showing of the 'Wall of Gaylord'. Also during this meal it is revealed that Greg lost his virginity to the housekeeper which leads Jack to thinking that the housekeepers son is indeed the product of her night with Greg.
The family then try to make the most of the weekend and become friends which has some very funny consequences. Jack is still making references to his circle of trust but if he carries on with his behaviour surely he will find himself on the outside of it.
Greg finds he has been left in charge of Little Jack when the other family members are all out and the consequences of his parenting skills are very funny especially when Little Jack comes out with his first word, a word which Greg has said in error! Will Jack be able to get Little Jack to forget the word and will he ever forgive Greg for saying it in front of him?
Will Jack discover Pam's pregnancy, will Greg already be a father, will Roz ever be able to give Jack some sex tips and do Pam and Greg eventually get married?
I loved this film from the start right through to the very end. The characters were all fantastic in their parts and they all seemed to work very well on screen together.
Jinx the cat played a very good and funny part trying to stay away from the randy dog and I nearly wet myself when he actually flushed him down the toilet in the RV.
The storyline was very good and I did not find it dragged or made me feel bored at any point. The film has a running time of 1 hour and 50 minutes which is just the right length and also it has a 12 certificate as it does have some sex references and some bad language but nothing which would seriously offend anyone.
The DVD has bonus features which include:-
Feature Commentary with Director Jay Roach and Editor / Co Producer Jon Poll Inside the Litter Box :Behind the Scenes with Jinx the cat The Manary Glad Focker Family Portrait Adventures of a Baby Wrangler An Interview with the Fockers Deleted Scenes Bloopers
The extras have a run time of 53 minutes and they are all worth a watch especially the boopers.
The film was produced by Jane Rosenthal, Robert De Niro and Jay Roach. It was Directed by jay roach and released in 2005 by Universal and Dreamworks Pictures.
I purchased my copy for £4.00 in Tesco some months back so do shop around for a bargain as this is a must watch film for all fans of a good comedy.
Advantages: Fun, good script Disadvantages: Not quite as good as the first one
Introduction
I do remember enjoying Meet the Parents, but knowing that this was a sequel put me off the idea of watching Meet the Fockers, even with likes of Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand. But when it came to the usual Saturday negotiations over what film to watch, this is the one that my partner and I agreed on. And I have to say watching it with a nice meal and a bottle or two of wine was very entertaining. But does that make it a good film? ... ...the last few years, including Meet the Parents, the Austin Powers movies and 50 First Dates. He was originally planned to direct The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, but was forced to pull out because of clashes with the timetable for Meet the Fockers. The story
Those of you who watched Meet the Parents will know that Gaylord Focker (known as Greg for obvious reasons) and Pam Byrnes are a young couple in love. Unfortunately for Greg, he didn't ...

...film- but after having watched Meet the Fockers, I have to say that it certain exceeds Meet the Parents in terms of humor and cringe worthiness. For those of you who found the first movie enthrallingly funny, I believe you might just enjoy this one as much as I did. Through a typical Focker-filled weekend, the two families discover that they happen to be as different as could be. Meet The Fockers is an American Romantic Comedy movie released in the United Kingdom on 28th January 2005. This film was directed by Jay Roach and stars Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. Meet The Fockers is the sequel to the film Meet The Parents. Running time of the movie is one hundred and ten minutes (ten minutes short of two hours).
I remember first watching this movie approximately three years ago when I stayed at a friend's house , although ... ...about Greg's past ? Watch Meet The Fockers to find out!
First of all , one thing I find extremely funny about this movie , is the funny names the characters have. Obviously , the title of the movie is meant to sound similar to the "F" word and Greg's real name is Gaylord Focker.
I havn't seen the original movie ; Meet The Parents , yet I still managed to 'keep up' with this movie OK. Also , due to this I cannot say whether this film lives up to ...

...Fockers,' is the sequel to Meet The Parents, where the Brynes family finally gets to meet the Focker family in their more 'loving' home. To sum up the first film, all you really need to know is that Pam and Greg became engaged, with all the rest becoming clear in the film.

The performances by the characters in this film are sensational, with the hilarious addition of the baby, whose reactions provided laughter. Though, there was never really a part for the Dina Brynes in this film.

Meet the Parents
------------------------
So we start off Meet the parents. Gaylord "Greg" Focker, (Ben Stiller) is a male nurse. Living in Chicago with his Girlfriend Pam Byrnes, (Teri Polo). Just as he is about to pop the question to her, he finds out that her father, Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro) is rather old fashioned and would like to be asked for his daughters hand in marriage. So off they pop to Oyster Bay for the marriage of Pams younger ...

These movies really do have the 'feel good factor'
De Nero shouldn't be this funny, but he is and he pulls it off, you forget his previous hardman roles in films like The Godfather, Casino et al, he really can do the funny stuff too - what a talent.
Meet the Parents
This introduces us to the likeable Gaylord M. Focker (Greg) and his girlfriend Pam Byrnes (Pam cakes has her Dad likes to call her). What a lovely couple, so in love, so happy.
Meet the Parents is about exactely that when Greg learns that Pam's sister has just got engaged and that her fiance (Dr Bob) asked for Mr Brynes permission first before popping the queston to Debbie, he knows he must do the same and so the fun begins...
Pam's Dad turns out to be former CIA with a lie detector in the basement. Her sister, Debbie, has announced her wedding to Dr Bob ...
This is a great box-set made up of the following:
MEET THE PARENTS:
Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro star as the son in law and father in law to be. Greg Focker (Stiller) has nothing but the best intentions for his relationship with Jack's daughter Pam, but that doesn't mean he's welcome into the family; Jack's an ex CIA agent who typifies the hard to please father in law, and the two are in for one hell of a ride.
IS IT ANY GOOD:
I have to say this film is a complete success, albeit a fairly straightforward and predictable comedy. It's typical good guy vs bad guy, and the roles are perfectly cast. Stiller has just the right amount of geekiness to offset his cocky side, and immediately disarms viewers who feel nothing but empathy for him. De Niro relies on a career of playing the tough guy to ease his way through the role - it ...
Having been begrudgingly approved by his prospective parent-in-laws, Greg Focker faces a mammoth task; he must now introduce the straight-laced Byrnes family to his wholly unconventional and totally eccentric parents...

DVD Description
Following the knee-slapping hit MEET THE PARENTS, director Jay Roach once again keeps audiences roaring with laughter as he presents MEET THE FOCKERS. This time, young engaged couple Pam (Teri Polo) and Greg (Ben Stiller) are getting their parents together a few months before the wedding. Greg nervously plans out every detail of the trip, only to be usurped by Pam's domineering ex-CIA-man father (Robert DeNiro). Not only has he purchased an RV, insisting they'll be driving from New York City to the Fockers' home in Miami, but he's bringing along his perfect baby grandson. When they finally arrive at the Fockers' house, Greg's parents, Bernie and Roz (Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand), turn out to be sex-addicted hippies and not at all what the Byrnes (DeNiro and Blythe Danner) had expected. With one pitfall after the next, the film takes the concept of awkward in-law experiences to new heights, leaving no stone unturned from stories about past sexual experiences to detailed discussion of current ones. What's worse, the Fockers are teaching the baby curse words weaning him on rum, to the shock of his overprotective grandparents. Every conversation is totally inappropriate and downright embarrassing, keeping audiences braced for the next disaster. Along the way, all six cast members turn in topnotch performances, with Hoffman, Streisand, and Stiller leading the charge in true Focker spirit.
