Cady Heron is the new girl at school. She has moved from Africa, and has been home-schooled all her life. Cady is smart, pretty and somewhat of a grown up.
Cady finds friends in the form of Janis and Damian - two students who aren't part of a clique and are classed as outcasts.
Damian and Janis give Cady a quick guide to the way the school works, who's who and whats what. This is when 'The Plastics' are introduced - Regina George, Gretchen Weener and Karen Smith. Regina is the boss, she is classed as the Queen Bee of the school.
Every girl wants to be Regina and every guy whats to have Regina, that is everyone apart from Janis and Damian.
During an attempt to fight her way through the well organised Canteen, Cady is invited to sit with the Plastics. Cady is then asked if she would like to sit with the Plastics all week, and basically become part of their Clique. After Cady tells Damian and Janis, they decide to use this as a way for Janis to seek revenge on Regina and have fun playing
games with them.
Soon it becomes clear that Cady is entering further and further into Girl-world, she seems to spend more time talking about Regina then anything else. Cady finds herself a crush, in the shape of Aaron Samuels, who is Regina's Ex. Cady begins to act like a Plastic with Bitching and Backstabbing - not only that but she begins to fail her subjects just to gain Aaron's attention.
With the handbags and Nails out, Cady becomes more interested in ruining Regina than anything else. This starts to take effect on the friendships shes made and her grades. Will Girl World ruin Cady and turn her into Regina or will she realise whats happening before its too late!!

..........Soundtrack..........
The only song which I can actually remember from the film is Pinks God is A DJ ... Oh and Jingle Bell Rock. Everything else was pretty much unmemorable.
I think that the film could of had a better soundtrack. If the film had gone for more popular songs it could of been more of a hit like Clueless was.
...........My Thoughts................
I love girl chick flicks. I love watching teenage soap dramas. So as soon as I heard about this film I knew I would probably love it. And well.. I did.
The characters reminded me of girls at my school, and there is always that one boy!! I think it comes across as a more realistic view of high-school, which makes the audience able to relate to the characters more.
I really enjoyed watching the film, the three Plastics worked really well together and it came across as a strong force within the school.
It doesn't in my opinion have an age limit on it. I think Children, teens and adults will enjoy this film. Secretly also I think a few guys would like it a lot too, and not just for the beautiful ladies in it.
When I first watched the film I thought they looked amazing their hairs, outfits and makeup. After re-watching it a few years later you can see how it appears that their fashion has dated a little. This reminds me a little of Clueless.
Also I love Scrubs and thought that Neil Flynn was perfect for playing Cady's Dad. I especially loved the part when he grounded Cady because he didn't realise you couldn't go out whilst grounded!!
I would recommend this film to any girl - its perfect as part of a girl's night in!

Advantages: Funny, great performance from Lindsay Lohan, great writing from Tina Fey, better than most teen movies out recently, slightly darker comedy, Disadvantages: Quite formulaic, predictable.
