If your buying this DVD to get fit then dont not purchase this one. If your buying this for Peter Kays excellent brand of comedy really don't bother. I bought this DVD expecting both and was very very disappointed. The workout itself is very poor, im not usually a user of workout video's but my wife is, and i thought this would be one we could do together. We were both disappointed with the workout, but we were more disappointed with the comedy. Were big fans of max and paddy and most things peter kay has done but not this. In its defence there are a couple of funny moments but these are few and far between, and if your using this as a workout dvd the jokes will not be funny at all the 2nd time round. My advise is to stay away from this one.
Advantages: Great value for money, good bonus features Disadvantages: None
Well, where to start. Firstly, let me say what great value this DVD box set is. Not only do you get the complete series of Max and Paddy on one DVD (complete with bonus features), you also get the 'Power of Two' workout DVD which is hilarious and last but not least you get the CD soundtrack to 'Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere'.
This is a must for any Peter Kay fan, the extra features on the Road to Nowhere DVD are great- they include deleted scenes and out-takes that will have you in fits of laughter.
All six brilliantly funny and entertaining episodes of the series are included. I don't want to give away the plot lines and spoil it for you. If you have never seen Road to Nowhere but are a Peter Kay or Phoenix Nights fan then you have to buy this set!
All of this is packaged in a nicely designed DVD case that will look ...
Advantages: Funny, what else can I say? Disadvantages: Short, no series 2
, which is a shame as I would like to watch them again.
Peter Kay's original series- That Peter Kay Thing, which spawned it all with the episode in the club. I also own this and it is a funny series, probably not as funny as this or Phoenix Nights but well worth watching, especially the Ice Cream man episode. If you want to buy that after seeing this then that is £15.
Peter Kay Live DVDs, I bought a pair for my uncle a few years ago, but they were also on TV. He's brilliant at stand up and so spot on with so many things.
For the unfit among you, Max and Paddy also made a fitness DVD called the Power of Two- may be worth getting Road to Nowhere for a relative for Christmas, and the Power of Two for after New Years when they want to loose some weight as they do come in a boxset out soon about £20.
My Opinion
When I originally saw this ...
A fitness workout with a difference from the comedic characters 'Max and Paddy'. The exercise workouts combine comedy with fitness in a way to get the viewer slimmer and fitter after the Christmas Festivities.
