It contains six episodes and is a spin off from Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights which follows the two Bolton doormen/bouncers Maxwell "Max" Bygraves (Kay) and Patrick "Paddy" O'Shea (McGuinness) as they wind their way around Britain in their campervan. The key reason why they are on the open road is never mentioned in the series however: they took £8,000 from a woman in the second series of Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights to kill her husband, but never properly went through with the job. When she discovered this, they hit the road in the van to escape the possible consequences. The two character have a great on screen relationship, seemingly boosted by there difference in character - Max as the sensible partner, and Paddy as the more immature partner, obsessed with sex and pornogrpahy and always being up for some very stupid activities.
I cannot reccomend this DVD Boxset enough, and although short, you are paying for sheer class entertainment! Its guarenteed laughs, espeically for fans of Phoenix Nights and Peter Kay aswell!
Advantages: Great value for money, good bonus features Disadvantages: None
...Not only do you get the complete series of Max and Paddy on one DVD (complete with bonus features), you also get the 'Power of Two' workout DVD which is hilarious and last but not least you get the CD soundtrack to 'Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere'.
This is a must for any Peter Kay fan, the extra features on the Road to Nowhere DVD are great- they include deleted scenes and out-takes that will have you in fits of laughter.
All six brilliantly funny ... ...don't want to give away the plot lines and spoil it for you. If you have never seen Road to Nowhere but are a Peter Kay or Phoenix Nights fan then you have to buy this set!
All of this is packaged in a nicely designed DVD case that will look fabulous on any shelf.
Spend a few more quid and get this set to benefit all of the extras, rather than just the single disc edition. ...
