And so here it is, the third part of the Wachowski Brothers Trilogy and it is pretty much more of the same as the first two.
For those who don't follow the Matrix the third film starts off exactly where the second left off and although this is a great idea it really means that you are better off watching the second film beforehand again to refresh the story in your head.
Moving onto the film itself, a brief plot for all those who never watched the first two would be that Neo has now realised that he alone is the one that can stop the robots and it is up to him to free the humans. Agent Smith is back as before and this time he is intent on taking over both the humans and the robots in some kind of crazed power struggle. Morpeous, Trinity and the rest are also back for more.
As with the previous two outings the main thing you take with you after watching the film is the special effects. As before they seem to take the effects to the next level and some of the scenes involving the human's home city Zion are nothing short of spectacular, especially when it gets attacked by thousands of robot sentinels.
The script in Matrix Revolutions just about holds up although it has one of them endings where the audience is looking around at each other saying "What just happened there". The story and plot don't quite match up to the great story that was "The Matrix " but as far as films go it was still very enjoyable.
I do have to mention a few bad points I picked up from the film such as the sex scene between Neo and Trinity which I thought was just totally wrong (They are supposed to be in love but they both look like cardboard cut outs) and of course the ending. Does anyone really know what happened at the end??
Overall the film just about keeps you interested when they are explaining the plot but like its predecessors before it, all the praise must go to the special effects team and for this I would give the film a 8 out of 10. Good but could and should have been better

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, please let me know and I'll re-rate.

Advantages: Epic end to the story, blinding special effects Disadvantages: Plot felt slightly tired and the grand philosophical theme a little contrived
