Advantages: A great oppertunity to learn all the dances! Disadvantages: Some boring songs.
.... Again I would say this is worth a look, it is not particularly brilliant and it wont be the most fantastic thing you’ve ever seen but it does contain some interesting points including things like sell out tour information and various chart positions of different songs.
*** The DVD Box ***
The DVD is presented really nicely. The cover is a white background with a picture of Steps wearing smart cream and gold coloured clothes… their dress sense has come a long way since the days of 5,6,7,8 and Last Thing On My Mind! Above the picture of Steps is he Steps logo in Gold, and below the picture of them in smaller gold letters is the title of the DVD – Gold Greatest Hits.
The back of the box has some information about what’s on the DVD along with some clippets from the videos and a list of all the songs featured on the DVD.

Advantages: incredible array of extras - well thought out, good picture and sound quality Disadvantages: perhaps the film is the weak link
...This year, for the first time ever, I spent Christmas away from my family, spending it in Austria rather than returning to Taunton or Shrewsbury to spend it with my family. This being a DVD review, rather than an out and out film review, I do not intend to dwell overly on the plot of this film. So I will give you a very rough outline in a single paragraph and no more, before concentrating on the extras included on the DVD, as from my point of view, it is the extras on the DVD that convince you of whether you purchase the DVD or not, as well as the picture and sound quality...

Advantages: All the best video's from the past years Disadvantages: Not many newer video titles

If the 12 classic, body shaking, crazy video titles above aren't enough to make you turn into an obsessive Basement Jaxx fan, then there is more with bonus features such as Live Recordings from previous festivals such as Glastonbury and gigs in Belgium and Japan. And ALSO, there is an insight into the worldwide fanbase of Basement Jaxx with 'Jaxx TV' and Simons and Felix's recordings of their times in Japan.
What do I Think?
The release of this dvd titled 'The Singles' show-cases many of the groups classic and best known titles such as 'Red Alert', 'Jus 1 Kiss' and 'Romeo'. It is a must for fans of the Basement Jaxx scene and is a perfect dvd to have on when having a group of mates around. Although new titles like 'U Don't Know Me' are not present on this dvd, it does show you behind the scene...
