Mary Of Scotland DVD

Advantages: Great setlist; the complete show
Disadvantages: Disappointing documentary

...This helped ease my sorrow when Bruce decided to forget about Scotland on his tour in support of Magic! It's the complete joy-laden, ecstatic celebration of what Springsteen's music means to people even if they don't speak his language - the Barcelona crowd is mad! The only downside is probably that the documentary isn't really that great, but who cares when you've got the whole of the concert to enjoy, and a rather lovely acoustic version of 'Countin' on a Miracle' over the end-credits. Highlights for me are probably an exuberant version (knee slide, climb onto piano, introduction of the band and all) of Mary's Place, a song that had never really came to life for me on the album, Spirit in the Night, where Bruce forgets the words but smiles on through, and, a personal favourite, the Promised Land. ...Lee Evans for those of you that have never heard of him is one of Britains best comedians and winner of The Perrier Comedy award in 1993, when he took the Edinbrugh festival by storm. He has stared in movies such as The Fith Element, Mouse Hunt, Theres Something About Mary, The Martins as well as his own BBC TV show So What Now. Lee's latest film is a thriller called Freeze Frame is due for release sometime in 2004. Also in 1993 Lee Evans achieved a life-long ambition by performing and selling out for two nights at The London Palladium Lee Evans Wired & Wonderful tour ends with the Live show at Wembley. It went straight into the top 20 in November 2003, just two days after release I had tickets too see Lee Evans live on this tour when he performed in Brighton and have to say that the DVD/Video of the show is a true reflection... Advantages: Mary Poppins is a classic for all ages, easy to follow and visual
Disadvantages: It has been on television every christmas for the last few years.

...Mary Poppins is well known all over the world, people of all ages have seen it at one time or another but it is a timeless classic. When I was at Primary school we did Mary Poppins as a Christmas play. Mary Poppins is about a Nanny that comes to look after Jane and Micheal Banks after they have played numerous tricks on previous Nannys. Also, it shows they do this to get their Fathers attention. Of course to get children to enjoy the film it has a big element of magic in the form of Mary Poppins. This film should be watched by all. It is very colourful with some singing and dancing i.e. Chim chimney and the one everyone knows supercallifragilisticexpallidoshus.... Read review
