Advantages: Lots of big tunes Disadvantages: Not as strong as her debut
?My Life? was released in 1994 and came as the second album from the R&B and Soul singer MaryJ. Blige as she, along with support from the Bad Boy label (which has Puffy Daddy as its owner, and who is also seen to produce much of this release) come to bring another heavily Hip Hop-influenced record.
1. ?Intro?
2. ?Mary Jane?
After an interesting introduction, you see that she guides us right into what would become a classic R&B track form the artist as you find that in this one she performs a re-worked version of the Mary Jane Girls? ?All Night Long?. She goes hard with the material and makes it her own, whilst not going too far from the original). It is a tune that I simply can?t see a single fault in and is bound to take you in immediately.
**Five Stars**

Advantages: All of it is good Disadvantages: none i can think of
i heard a DJ on the radio said that this is one of the BEST R&B album of the decade and that it redefined MARYJBLIGE and her talents and to be honest I was not convinced. I didn't hear any tracks but I presumed he was following the hype however then I saw the video for ALL THAT I CAN SAY aand i was in shock...what a video and what a song, strong powerful vocals and lyrics Lauren Hill really did well. I was to learn however that this was not an album with one good hit and the song "Your Child" gave me the chills. I kept playing that song over and over and each time i get cold bumps, this was a very bold and strong song that dealt with issues that are often swept under the carpet. I was totally impressed and would recommend this album to anyone who wishes to hear good music. This really changed my view of MARYJBLIGE and her talents ...
Advantages: If you like R & B you will love this album, Mary J Blige at her very best Disadvantages: If you haven't been a fan of hers before then don't bother as she is at her usual high standard
I have loved MaryJBlige since 'What's the 411' and 'Share My World' and she just get's better and better! So much feeling and soul in her voice you really feel the emotion when you listen to her music. A must have for all soul/hip hop fans as theres a mix of both on this. My favourite track has got to be 'Without You' as i just cannot get it out of my head. A close second would have to be MJB da MVP as it just reminds you of summer and is such a catchy tune, 50 cent definately adds to it aswell. All in all a very good album by Mary as theres a nice mix of slow and fast tunes to get you in the mood for a night out. ...
