...in my local DVD shop, House of Flying Daggers alone cost more than this combination. This makes no sense to me, so, ievitably, I bought this one. However, aside from being fo the same genre- Martial arts - these DVDs have nothing at all in common and so I was a little disappointed that they couldn't come up with a better combination. ...the quality or memorability of House of Flying Daggers. The stunts are less well choreographed, and the general standard of the film is brought much lower. It is more of comedy-action film and the American acting drags down the standard of this set somewhat. Still, on its own Bulletproof Monk isn't a below average film and it is definitely watchable. The value for money of this set is what sets the standard more than anything... bargain! ... Read review

...I had wanted to watch Hero for several years; I was enchanted by ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ and knowing it was under the ‘wuxia’ genre in addition to hearing its rave reviews I knew I could be confident in getting it. ...that she is fictional. Hero is the kind of film you can just sit down to and watch from start to finish – everything around you seems to stop and you become addicted to the screen and the events. If like me, you are thinking of learning some kind of martial art in the near future, than from this film you can get all the inspiration and motivation you need. Reknown for all the Martial Arts fighting in it, Chinese style, this film is the foreign film that cashed in the most money from the US Box Office ever. ...Incidentally, although 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' was a complete success in the US and other western countries, it was a complete flop in China. Probably one of the reasons could be because the four main actors all speak four different dialects of Mandarin, which thankfully doesn't really affect Westerners who can see the film translated to English or else with English sub-titles.
