I am Wong-Fei Hung from Fu-Shan
Advantages: something for everyone, even women love these movies Disadvantages: A little dated now, sometimes a little to tongue in cheek.
...portraying this person but the Once Upon A Time in China movies tell the legend the best. Some small elements of fantasy within some fight scenes but for the most part raw hard hitting martial arts. Films are better in cantonese with subtitles rather than cheesy dubbing.
This box contains the first three of a total of six movies. The other three movies are titled Last Hero in China, Once upon a Time in China and America, {Kung-Fu shenanigans in ... ...6 {avoid this, this is the only one that doesn't star Jet Li and it's very poor}
Much like Rocky through the course of the movies you see a love relationship blossom between Fei-Hung and Aunt Yee {no relative}
The films also continue the story so you really build an affection for the charachters, such as Ah Soh, Ah Fu, porky, and Clubfoot. The films contain loads of humour and in parts are hysterical. I love ther part where Wong Fei-Hung woh happens ...

Stunning
Advantages: Stunning visuals with great martial arts Disadvantages: None
I purchased this film after seeing the trailer. The film is revolves around the outlaw of all martial arts. From start to finish the film captures your attention with a well thought out story along with stunning martial arts.
This is what you expect from a great martial arts epic, a great story, amazing martial arts, stunning action and substance.
I would highly recommend this film to anyone, it is not just for martial arts fans but also for action ...

BUTTERFLY AND SWORD (1993)
Advantages: Fantastic authentic stunt work and choreography. A classic Wuxia film. Disadvantages: The characters were so under-developed!
...In terms of martial arts, Butterfly is completely useless and she prefers it that way. Her father was one of the most power martial lords who were killed in a battle a few years earlier. For that, she's glad that she no longer has to live in the life of the martial arts society and to be living with danger. The only problem is that Sing has lied to her. When he's off to 'work', she assumes that he is a working merchant, not a killer.
Here is a bit ... ...and Butterfly is madly in love with each other, Sister Ko has grown a soft spot for Sing over the years. Better still, Yip is head over heels for Sister Ko; but is too scared to express his love for her. A group of four, yet only two of them are in love with each other.
While all the love dilemma are going on in the background, live goes on and Sister Ko's latest employer is the powerful Eunuch Li. Eunuch Li is ill fated and has only a month to ...

A Martial Artist Robin Hood
Advantages: Great martial arts, breathtaking fight choreorgraphy, innovative action scenes Disadvantages: None really
...(Donnie Yen) to apprehend the Iron Monkey. If he fails to do so, the governor will take Kei-Hung's son, Wong Fei-Hung (Tsang Sze Man, an actress playing a male) as prisoner. Iron Monkey is a wonderful film, full of exhilarating energy and impressive martial arts choreography. Each character in this film displays an amazing array of moves. Some highlights include: an awesome impromptu rooftop between the Iron Monkey and Kei-Hung; the night battle ... ...the climactic battle taking place above a fiery pit. Though Yen and Yu are the stars, actress Tsang Sze Man steals the show with a few astonishing moves of her own. If you loved Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but felt the film was a bit too philosophical, you will appreciate the lighthearted and fun tone of Iron Monkey ...

How Sequels SHOULD Be Made
Advantages: Builds on everything great about the 1st movie.. and then some Disadvantages: Again like the 1st movie, cultural/historical significance may not be apparent to all
...the most part, sequels suck. Once film production companies see that they're onto a winner, convention dictates that they must attempt to milk the metaphorical money cow for all that it's worth until the audience loses interest and moves on. For all intents and purposes, Once Upon A Time In China 2 (OUATIC2) bears all the hallmarks of such a sequel, for reasons which I will explain below. The original movie was a huge success for all involved, propelling ... ...be better after all.
ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA 2 - DVD
PICTURE: 5/5
The DVD of OUATIC2 from the excellent Hong Kong Legends (HKL) label is more than worthy of the film itself. Just don't expect it to stand up to the latest Hollywood DVD releases with pristine image transfer. Remember, the original prints of many HK movies have been stored in neglectful conditions resulting in picture deterioration of the source material. Considering the film is ...
