Bruce Lee-thal!

Advantages: Supreme martial arts choreography, humourous and most memorable final fight scene.
Disadvantages: If I HAD to nitpick, I suppose the comedy is quite basic

The Martial Arts genre has, ever since I started watching movies, been at the very top in my mind and has never lost its place to any other type of movie. My heart was stolen the first minute I watched Enter the Dragon, starring Bruce Lee, when I was 4 years old. It's an 18 certificate movie, but my parents were far from strict about prohibiting me from watching films of a violent nature. As I watched Bruce kick and punch his enemies all over the ...
...blockbusters for me, and over the last 20 years I have watched them all countless times and never lost an iota of enthusiasm for any. However, there is one film that surpasses the rest in storyline and quality of fight sequences and that is Way of The Dragon. Background ++++++++++ This film came at a major juncture in Bruce Lee's life. He had just featured as the leading man in two box office smash hits in China, The Big Boss and Fist of Fury. ...

Warrior King

Advantages: Incredible fight scenes
Disadvantages: Lacked a plot and unconvincing Australian accents

Warrior King is the sequel to the movie Ong Bak also known as Ong Bak 2 or Tom Yum Goong. The movie is based around an ancient order of warriors who spend their lives with an elephant, defending their weak points from attack, focused mainly around their knee joints. One day when Kham and his father are at a market both Khams elephant and his fathers are stolen and taken away. Kham's father is killed in the process. (I never quite got how Kham could ...
...and last up Making the warrior Cast and crew Interviews That’s all for Disc 2 I am afraid but its definitely worth looking over, you may tire of it after seeing it all once or twice but the movie will more then make up for that, if you're into Martial Arts that is! Cast: Tony Jaa-Kham Petchtai Wongkamlao-Mark Bongkoj Khongmalai-Pla Xing Jing-Madame Rose Nathan Jones ... T.K. (as Nathan B. Jones) Johnny Nguyen ... Johnny (as Johnny Tri Nguyen) ...

Another quality film from Korea

Advantages: the film is real classy
Disadvantages: a sad ending

...hitting, realistic fight scenes. The Warrior, Musa in Korea, is a period movie set in 14th century, that actually tells the story of China from a different view point, which is refreshing. The film centres around a group of Korean diplomats protected by a band of Korean soldiers. However in the group is 3 main central characters. The main hero is Yeo-Sol, played by Jung Woo-Sung, Choi Jung, played by Joo Jin-Mo, an upper class, general, who is very ...
...all the men look up to. Yeo-Sol is a slave of one of the elderly diplomats. So this diplomatic envoy is on a mission of peace to see the Ming emperor. Upon arrival they are greeted by a very frosty reception, and are surrounded by Chinese soldiers. Sadly they are considered as spies and are arrested. Whilst being transported by prison wagons, the wagons are ambushed by Mongols that slay all the Chinese guards, but leave the Korean alive. However ...

High Kicking Action

Advantages: Tony Jaa doing what he does best
Disadvantages: Not for people who dont like foreign films

...of the FILM ONLY. Warrior King is the 2005 martial arts epic starring Tony Jaa, following his previous success in Ong Bak. Again directed by Prachya Pinkaew, and choreographed by Jaa and Panna Rittikrai this is almost a guarantee of explosive fight action. The story follows Kham (Jaa), a Thai villager who's family raise elephants in hope of having them picked for the royal guard. On a trip to a town celebration Kham's father's 2 elephants, Por ...
...to Sydney, Australia. Kham then head's to Sydney on a search for his elephants, where he meets up with his cousin Sgt. Mark (played by Thai comic and star of Ong Bak, Petchtai Wongkamlao) and much martial arts action follows. Jaa's performance in WK is stronger than his previous film, Ong Bak, bringing more emotion to the character and a greater presence to the screen. Don't get me wrong he's still no Bruce Lee on screen, but more than makes up ...

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Confuses Audience

Advantages: See what life might have been like during the Qing Dynasty
Disadvantages: it left the viewer confused with unanswered questions

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon takes place during the Qing Dynasty and tells the story of woman and men warriers and a sword known as the Green Destiny. I was utterly confused when watching this movie and had a hard time grasping my head around the plot. This story line was very difficult to follow and was needed to be searched on the Internet to discover the plot. In my opinion, the movie didn't answer any questions that were set up in the beginning ...
...plot and the characters of the story were to confusing that it was distracting from the effects included. Personally, I beleive that Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was a pointless movie in which there was no plot but just a series of random events that made transitions through the movie. ...
