Advantages: a clever film and rather enjoyable

Advantages: ironically a likeable film
Disadvantages: very little of Van Damme in the movie

This film contains everything that for me makes a very poor film, so then why do I like it so much. On the DVD cover compared to the VHS video they have put a picture of Jean Claude Van Damme, in a bid to aid selling the movie. This is the first movie {non pornographic} that Jean Claude Van Damme is in, and as a result does not have big parts. so if you only buy it on the strength that includes Damme, you may be a tad disappointed. Advantages: Great Fights, Good Movie to watch with your homies!
Disadvantages: none that i can think of, off the top of my head

Kickboxer is an awesum fighting film, if you like van damme films you will love this one right here, everytime i watch it i get pumped up so much, its a really good film that has some good fight sences and some heart filled moments in it like when Van dammes brother gets injured very badly by Tong Po the Champion in thailand. Advantages: Excellent martial arts action, decent music
Disadvantages: Appalling acting

...my personal favourite). What Bloodsport does do well is the fighting sequences, which are amongst the best I have seen in any martial arts film. The action is incredibly realistic to the extent that I would not be shocked if some of the action was actually filmed using semi-contact instead of the usual missing by a mile and adding sound effects later that you often get in martial arts films. Some of the music in the film is actually pretty good as well and matches the general feel throughout the film (think 80s camp and you are pretty much there). If you are in any way interested in martial arts then I would recommend this film highly. Advantages: Excellent for all ages and the best fight scenes on dvd!
Disadvantages: Not so good on disk or box quility

Maybe a few years back but Van Damme has made three excellent movies great for all ages so just sit back and relax and prepare for a set of martial arts thrillers.
