Advantages: Culturally accurate (As I can tell), Comical, Excellent martial arts & Choreography. Disadvantages: Not too deep, more for action than story.
I watched this movie as a recommendation from a friend. - And I'm glad I did. This is one of Jackie Chans' first films and helped hurtle him into stardom. Don't be put off by my special effects rating, a good martial arts film doesn't need them! The choreography is outstanding and carries the film from start to finish. The story is of a young unruly martial arts student (Jackie) who is forced by his father to leave town to train with a legendary ... ...of all, feared by new apprentices'. The young Jackie later discovers the legend is all but an old drunk. He dismisses him, until later through a funny and riveting series of events their paths meet again. As the film continues, Jackie's character, Wong Fei-Hung, is taught 'drunken Kung Fu'. In the mean time it is revealed an assassin has been sent after Wongs' father. I think it is plain to see that this is soley a martial arts movie; the story there ...
Advantages: House of Flying Daggers Disadvantages: Bulletproof Monk
...in my local DVD shop, House of Flying Daggers alone cost more than this combination. This makes no sense to me, so, ievitably, I bought this one. However, aside from being fo the same genre- Martial arts - these DVDs have nothing at all in common and so I was a little disappointed that they couldn't come up with a better combination. I have rated this product good because of the incredible film that is House of Flying Daggers. eautiful scenery, artistry, ... ...the quality or memorability of House of Flying Daggers. The stunts are less well choreographed, and the general standard of the film is brought much lower. It is more of comedy-action film and the American acting drags down the standard of this set somewhat. Still, on its own Bulletproof Monk isn't a below average film and it is definitely watchable. The value for money of this set is what sets the standard more than anything... bargain! ...
Advantages: the film is real classy Disadvantages: a sad ending
...hitting, realistic fight scenes. The Warrior, Musa in Korea, is a period movie set in 14th century, that actually tells the story of China from a different view point, which is refreshing.
The film centres around a group of Korean diplomats protected by a band of Korean soldiers. However in the group is 3 main central characters. The main hero is Yeo-Sol, played by Jung Woo-Sung, Choi Jung, played by Joo Jin-Mo, an upper class, general, who is very ... ...all the men look up to. Yeo-Sol is a slave of one of the elderly diplomats. So this diplomatic envoy is on a mission of peace to see the Ming emperor. Upon arrival they are greeted by a very frosty reception, and are surrounded by Chinese soldiers. Sadly they are considered as spies and are arrested. Whilst being transported by prison wagons, the wagons are ambushed by Mongols that slay all the Chinese guards, but leave the Korean alive. However ...
Advantages: Incredible fight scenes Disadvantages: Lacked a plot and unconvincing Australian accents
Warrior King is the sequel to the movie Ong Bak also known as Ong Bak 2 or Tom Yum Goong. The movie is based around an ancient order of warriors who spend their lives with an elephant, defending their weak points from attack, focused mainly around their knee joints. One day when Kham and his father are at a market both Khams elephant and his fathers are stolen and taken away. Kham's father is killed in the process. (I never quite got how Kham could ... ...and last up Making the warrior Cast and crew Interviews
That’s all for Disc 2 I am afraid but its definitely worth looking over, you may tire of it after seeing it all once or twice but the movie will more then make up for that, if you're into Martial Arts that is!

Advantages: Looks great & is very watchable Disadvantages: None at all really
I'm giving this film 10/10 and it earns every single mark of it. It was sheer brilliance from start to finish as I genuinely expected a film with overdone wire work but this was a good film that was made even more watchable by the fact of it being based on a true story. Jet Li plays the man who founded the main Wushu martial arts movement and we follow him through his life. The fight scenes are well done and don't go over the top at all, which I ... ...token Westerner and it was nice to see he is still doing well after leaving the WWE. The story is compelling and the plot flows well and even if you are not a fan of martial arts movies or struggle with subtitled films you will still enjoy this film for it's story. The sets and backgrounds are magnificent and the film looks wonderful all the way through, there just isn't a bad set or bad looking scene in the entire film. Jet Li plays his part extremely ...
