Ong-Bak, see it to believe it.

Advantages: Funny, exciting, amazing, great popcorn flick.
Disadvantages: The story is a little hokey. Who cares?

This is a fantastic film, I'll say that now. If you are already a Martial-Arts movie fan, you should believe the hype. I actually took quite a while to get round to seeing this one, but that was because I hadn't seen a good martial arts flick since... Jackie Chan! I hate Seagal, and Van Damme only has one or two good films. So when I finally watched Ong-Bak: my faith in 'chop-socky' films was reaffirmed. Balletic, exciting, there's even a little ...
...fight scenes, and incredible acrobatic feats that you watch this one for. The 'pants on fire' moment blew me away! When I first watched Jackie Chan (I was very young at the time) I was filled with a 'wish I could do that' sense of awe. Watching this film I felt the same way, and that's rare now that I am at a very jaded age. Very little cinema leaves me feeling the way this film does. A must watch movie, especially if you have been to Thailand! (which ...

What to expect?

Advantages: Stunts look as real as they come!
Disadvantages: in Thai

I had recently watched 'Ong Bak' and the back of this dvd said; 'does for stunts what 'ong bak' did for martial arts'. Now, if you have seen ong bak, that is a hard statement to live up to. However, I definitely think the film delivered. The stunts are mostly done without wires thus, what you see is what you get. It is definitely worth seeing for the wow factor. The stunts themselves are not limited to one type like many other films you get. It had ...
...gymnastic moves in there which allowed for a very big range of stunts you never thought possible and I'm sure there must have been a couple of broken ribs whilst trying to do them all. However, saying this, the storyline isn't that strong and again with many thai films coming out, there is comedy where really you need it to be serious, but luckily this is only in a few of places. I'd say its a good film and I'd definitely watch this space for more ...

no strings attached

Advantages: lots of incredible fight scenes, full of stunts.
Disadvantages: shows you how unfit you are!!

Simply the best martial arts film i have seen since enter the dragon. Some of the fight scenes are unbelievable and out of this world fast. I had never heard of tony jaa before and wheni watched theis film i was blown away by how acrobatic and fast he is. As it says on the cover no useage of cgi, the things he does in the film are all carried out by him! only downfall is that its in a different language, but there are subtitles or dubbing so you ...

High Kicking Action

Advantages: Tony Jaa doing what he does best
Disadvantages: Not for people who dont like foreign films

...of the FILM ONLY. Warrior King is the 2005 martial arts epic starring Tony Jaa, following his previous success in Ong Bak. Again directed by Prachya Pinkaew, and choreographed by Jaa and Panna Rittikrai this is almost a guarantee of explosive fight action. The story follows Kham (Jaa), a Thai villager who's family raise elephants in hope of having them picked for the royal guard. On a trip to a town celebration Kham's father's 2 elephants, Por ...
...to Sydney, Australia. Kham then head's to Sydney on a search for his elephants, where he meets up with his cousin Sgt. Mark (played by Thai comic and star of Ong Bak, Petchtai Wongkamlao) and much martial arts action follows. Jaa's performance in WK is stronger than his previous film, Ong Bak, bringing more emotion to the character and a greater presence to the screen. Don't get me wrong he's still no Bruce Lee on screen, but more than makes up ...

This Girl Ain't Sweet

Advantages: Wonderful Martail Arts...She is just Brilliant
Disadvantages: Basic story...but who cares!!!

...to help her mum. Chocolate is well directed and is an extremely entertaining watch. Prachya Pinkaew, the director who introduced the world to the fantastic Tony Jaa has again discovered another gem, this time in Yanin Vismistananda. She is wonderfully superb as the autistic Zen showcasing her array of martial arts skills and demonstrating the wonderful athleticism she possesses. Her acting is also pretty good as are the supporting cast that consist ...
...action choreography. This is where Chocolate makes up for its inadequacies. Using no wires along with intricate set pieces and multiple opponents, clearly influenced from Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan movies and notably Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill: Vol , are absolutely fantastic. Prachya Pinkaew and the fight choreography team should be commended in trying to raise the bar and try something different. With this in mind Chocolate is a brilliant Martial ...
