Bruce Lee-thal!
Review of The Way Of The Dragon (Special Collector's Edition) (Wide Screen) by oxonian

Advantages: Supreme martial arts choreography, humourous and most memorable final fight scene.
Disadvantages: If I HAD to nitpick, I suppose the comedy is quite basic

The Martial Arts genre has, ever since I started watching movies, been at the very top in my mind and has never lost its place to any other type of movie. My heart was stolen the first minute I watched Enter the Dragon, starring Bruce Lee, when I was 4 years old. It's an 18 certificate movie, but my parents were far from strict about prohibiting me from watching films of a violent nature. As I watched Bruce kick and punch his enemies all over the ...
...blockbusters for me, and over the last 20 years I have watched them all countless times and never lost an iota of enthusiasm for any. However, there is one film that surpasses the rest in storyline and quality of fight sequences and that is Way of The Dragon. Background ++++++++++ This film came at a major juncture in Bruce Lee's life. He had just featured as the leading man in two box office smash hits in China, The Big Boss and Fist of Fury. ... TWINKLE TWINKLE MY LUCKY STARS (1985)
Review of Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars (Wide Screen) by Moogiekupo

Advantages: The choreographed fights scenes won't let you down
Disadvantages: Too many cast to concentrate or relate to. Too much libidos

...the same cast. ‘Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars (TTLS)’ is an action comedy, just like the two previous instalments. The mighty Sammo Hung directed the film as well as starring in it. The cast I remember seeing in ‘Winners and Sinners’ were Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, Stanley Fung, John Sham and Richard Ng. Eric Tsang was supposingly introduced in ‘My Lucky Stars’ and ‘Twinkles’ introduced a young and handsome character called ‘Pagodo’ (Michael Miu). With ...
...assume that there would be outstanding fighting scenes without a double. This was true. If ‘Winners and Sinners’ is believed to be the funniest out of the instalments, then TTLS, in my opinion, is definitely more action orientated. Sammo Hung was able to choreograph several breathtaking fight scenes, which enable the trio to demonstrate their potential. This time, Hung was also able to introduce new talents within the fight, such as Andy Lau. My ... Read review

Brainless Fun
Review of City Hunter (Subtitled and Dubbed) (Wide Screen) by Photosynthesis

Advantages: Great Fight scenes, some comedy moments
Disadvantages: Weak Plot, Dissapointing

Based on a popular manga, I was expecting a lot more from this movie. However for those expecting something similar to the manga, will be disappointed as this movie does not really follow it as such. Ryo (Jackie Chan) is paid to locate the daughter of his employer. He finds her on a ship, which is hijacked by terrorists, and Jackie must save the girl and the day. Its not exactly a unique storyline or a strong plot. But provides plenty of oppertunity ...
...someone who loves lots of fight scenes, slapstick comedy and some brainless fun for an hour or two, then I would recommend this film. But do not expect a strong story line or any intellectual enhancement from ths movie. Its full of cliches and cheesy moments, but also some funny and enjoyable moments. There are some great fight scenes and comedy moments, but its one of those movies easily forgotten. Its a film that a Jackie Chan fan would perhaps ... Read review

Utterly funny.
Review of My Lucky Stars (Wide Screen) by shintai88

Advantages: Funny scene in Japanese Hotel ordering food, and taking advantage of female ICPO agent
Disadvantages: none

One of my favourites, the trio are now in Tokyo Japan, Jackie and Yuan, are ICPO agents who are tracking a crime synicate in Tokyo, but Yuan is captured in the beginning in an Amusement park. Jackie therefore calls for reinforcements from his old orphan pal sammo. Sammo is in prison and is set free only to be arrested instantly, and is offered the job, he gathers all of his old friends who are criminals, and they are all set off on a mission with ...
...million hong kong dollars worth of Bonds, and there job is to infiltrate the crime synicate and to help locate their base. overall the movie like always with the trio is filled completely with Slapstick, with some brilliant acting from sammo's gang. A must watch film for all Jackie Chan fans and a great movie for all who are new to the Peking Opera Trio. Filled with original jokes and an original storyline, with ninja's and samurai's. ... Sharp pointy thing for hire
Review of Shogun Assassin (Uncut Version) (Wide Screen) by tayloa22

Advantages: father son relationship, action, plot
Disadvantages: dated, some won't like the graphic violence

Shogun Assassin- A Review By Addy Steeped in History Shogun Assassin is a chambara film which means sword fight, and that's what this film offers up in abundance. The film was originally released in 1980 but due to the sheer graphic nature of the film it was banned for many years in this country, {1983-2001} and now has achieved a cult status and huge fan base. This jidaigeki {Period film} is set in Japan during the Edo period and is a film ...
...Beauty and the Beast Shogun Assassin really does combine elements of both beauty and beast. Allow me to elaborate. The beast ☺You may remember that at the beginning of the review I mentioned that this film was formerly banned. This is due to the graphic nature of the battle scenes. Not only is there regular geysers of blood shooting out from gaping wounds but there are images such as swords being buried into heads and heads being split ... Read review
