Big Boss - Bruce's Lee's spotlight
Review of The Big Boss (Platinum Edition) by fightgear

Advantages: Bruce Lee, gory but funny fight scenes, some interesting extras, remastered picture and sound
Disadvantages: You can tell that Lee didn't direct this.

...role after his success in the American market with support roles in Green Hornet, Ironside and Long Street. Although this is my least favourite Lee film, it is still a worthwhile investment. In this film, Lee plays the character Cheng, a country bumpkin type who leaves China to earn a living in Thailand. He is looked after by his uncle and accepted in to their family. A central aspect of this film is that Lee is forbidden from fighting as a result ...
...until about 30 minutes into the film. Of course being an early 1970's film, this one is full of the usual cliches; over acting, shaky sets, bad soundtracks and dodgy editing cuts BUT it does allow Lee to demonstrate that he did intend to be an actor rather than just a kick and punch jockey. Lee's family are workers at an ice factory which is actually a front for a drug smuggling business. Workers are treated badly by the gangsters running the factory ... Read review

Tung Lung, Honours Bruce's death
Review of Game Of Death 2 (Wide Screen) by Bandit_Haze

Advantages: Excellent martial arts, from Tung Lung
Disadvantages: none

Game of Death 2 Staring Tung Lung, Huong Cheng-Li, Roy Horan, Lee Hoi-San and previously unseen footage of Bruce Lee. The film in many ways is similar to Fist of Fury 2 they are both about avenging the death of a brother. In this case Bobby Lo played by Tung Lung set out to get revenge for the death of Billy Lo (Bruce Lee) at the hands of Jim Koo (Huong Cheng-Li). This film has a lot less American influence than Game of Death , which ...
...and fighting scenes than a well thought out story Probably the best Bruce Lee film ever made, even though Bruce Lee is not actually in it. Made with previously unseen footage of his films, a stand in and completed with the classic poorly dubbed English lame dialogue and amazing Kung Fu. When Billy Lo (Bruce Lee) is killed at friend Jim Koo's funeral, brother Bobby Lo (Tong Lung) sets out to avenge his death. Bobby Lo sets off to Japan to meet ... Read review

Bruce Lee-thal!
Review of The Way Of The Dragon (Special Collector's Edition) (Wide Screen) by oxonian

Advantages: Supreme martial arts choreography, humourous and most memorable final fight scene.
Disadvantages: If I HAD to nitpick, I suppose the comedy is quite basic

The Martial Arts genre has, ever since I started watching movies, been at the very top in my mind and has never lost its place to any other type of movie. My heart was stolen the first minute I watched Enter the Dragon, starring Bruce Lee, when I was 4 years old. It's an 18 certificate movie, but my parents were far from strict about prohibiting me from watching films of a violent nature. As I watched Bruce kick and punch his enemies all over the ...
...blockbusters for me, and over the last 20 years I have watched them all countless times and never lost an iota of enthusiasm for any. However, there is one film that surpasses the rest in storyline and quality of fight sequences and that is Way of The Dragon. Background ++++++++++ This film came at a major juncture in Bruce Lee's life. He had just featured as the leading man in two box office smash hits in China, The Big Boss and Fist of Fury. ... Immortal (***** stars out of five)
Review of Enter The Dragon (Special Edition) by supereddman98

Advantages: Amazing fighting
Disadvantages: Not the best acting, but who needs it.

Enter the Dragon (1973) was Bruce Lee's first (and only) solo big Hollywood production. Too bad he never got to see the fruits of his labor. He passed away during the film's post production (don't fret, two more official Bruce Lee films were made after this one. Despite all of the years of hard work and finally making it to the big times, he wasn't around long enough to enjoy it. Even though Robert Clouse is credited as director and another person ...
...out you'll have to watch Enter The Dragon!!!! Bruce Lee worked a great deal on this picture. He wrote most of the screenplay (uncredited), filmed all of the action scenes (uncredited) and directed several scenes (uncredited). Lam Ching-Ying, Angela Mao, Jackie Chan and Bolo Yeung appear in this film. If you haven't seen this film already then you're either a kid, lame or something is wrong with you. Highly recommended. ... Read review

Fist of Fury or Revenge in a Rickshaw
Review of Fist Of Fury (Platinum Edition) by fightgear

Advantages: Bruce Lee, silly little aspects, fight scenes, Bobby Baker, first ever nunchaku use on film
Disadvantages: nothing really except the direction.... very static

This film is a fictional story based on a real event. A famous Chinese kung fu fighter was poisoned by the Japanese in turn of the century China. This much is true (as shown in the later film 'Legend'). Bruce Lee plays his top student who has moved away to another part of China. When he hears of his instructors death he races to be at the funeral disbelieving his death. Bruce's character then seeks to find his master's killers and revenge his death. ...
...His acting is never going to win an Oscar but bear in mind that this was made for the Chinese audiences not Western ones. The culture gap and acting expectations differ beyond what we consider good but one thing communicates itself wonderfully regardless of whether it is seen in the West, in Asia, in the Middle East or in any part of this world, his fighting ability. Lee uses this film to fully showcase his scope of fighting and much of the fight ... Read review
