Classic films!
Review of The Karate Kid / The Karate Kid 2 / The Karate Kid 3 / The Next Karate Kid (Box Set) by
fatboyjr
Advantages: Great films, good commentary, great price
Disadvantages: Nothing...as long as you like Karate Kid films :P
...fell in love with it. The storyline is so-so, but the performances and characters were just so awesome - who could forget Mr. Miyagi! It's great for younger boys who can relate to Daniel, and the films also teach good morals.
The special features for the box set are limited to some audio commentary by the main characters, but fortunately it's some good stuff. If you're a fan, its great to be able to see how they are in real life, and none of them ...

Nice Pack
Review of Jackie Chan - Project A (Special Collector's Edition) (Box Set) by
majeedkazi
Advantages: Full of good action
Disadvantages: hardly any
Like many Jackie Chan vehicles, is just as enjoyable even if seen in a non-English version. With a few exceptions, the plot simply serves to space out stunt and action scenes that are among the best--and funniest--Chan has ever done.As survivors of the pirate band vow revenge on Sergeant Dragon Mao (Jackie Chan). Back in Hong Kong, officials seek to reduce the power of corrupt Police Superintendent Chun (David Lam) by giving command of one of his ... ...standard Hong Kong film, Chan took every chance to push himself to the limit. The detailed sets, which recreate late 19th century Hong Kong in exquisite detail, have been used in numerous films since. As if anyone cares about the sets in a Jackie Chan movie...so go for this movie ...

Enter as Dragon... Exit as Legend!
Review of Enter The Dragon DVD by
oxonian
Advantages: Superb fight sequences, compelling plot and excellent acting.
Disadvantages: Standard of fighting is not as magnificent as Way of the Dragon.
...and my father pressed 'Play'. Enter the Dragon started, and it was to teach me about Kung Fu.
Enter the Dragon was my first introduction to Bruce Lee, who is arguably the greatest Martial Artist of all time, and it was one I was never going to forget. I became a fan of Bruce instantly; his competence in acting was secondary to the magnificent Kung Fu he used to cripple his enemies. My interest and love for Martial Arts began in the wake of this ... ...Background
Enter the Dragon is perceived as the ultimate film of the Martial Arts genre. It significantly happened to be Bruce Lee's first and last Hollywood production. He had at this point starred in three Chinese blockbusters and was in the process of directing and producing Game of Death - which looked set to be another giant hit. However when the offer for Enter the Dragon arose, it was one Bruce could not refuse. It would ...

Bulletproof Monk
Review of Bulletproof Monk (Wide Screen) by
amyloveys
Advantages: amusing in places
Disadvantages: over the top in places
this film really suprised me! i was expecting to be rubbish, but to be fair its not really that bad. im very picky with my martial arts films as i find the flying through the air and bouncing off arrows very hard to watch, but this is watchable and sometimes even amusing! the ending is the only bit of this film that lets it down for me, but dont let that put you off, just giving my own opinion as i dont like 'fairy tale' endings, all the action throughout ...

TWINKLE TWINKLE MY LUCKY STARS (1985)
Review of Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars (Wide Screen) by
Moogiekupo
Advantages: The choreographed fights scenes won't let you down
Disadvantages: Too many cast to concentrate or relate to. Too much libidos
...the same cast.
‘Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars (TTLS)’ is an action comedy, just like the two previous instalments. The mighty Sammo Hung directed the film as well as starring in it. The cast I remember seeing in ‘Winners and Sinners’ were Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, Stanley Fung, John Sham and Richard Ng. Eric Tsang was supposingly introduced in ‘My Lucky Stars’ and ‘Twinkles’ introduced a young and handsome character called ‘Pagodo’ (Michael Miu).
With ... ...assume that there would be outstanding fighting scenes without a double. This was true. If ‘Winners and Sinners’ is believed to be the funniest out of the instalments, then TTLS, in my opinion, is definitely more action orientated. Sammo Hung was able to choreograph several breathtaking fight scenes, which enable the trio to demonstrate their potential. This time, Hung was also able to introduce new talents within the fight, such as Andy Lau.
My ...
