Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Confuses Audience

Advantages: See what life might have been like during the Qing Dynasty
Disadvantages: it left the viewer confused with unanswered questions

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon takes place during the Qing Dynasty and tells the story of woman and men warriers and a sword known as the Green Destiny. I was utterly confused when watching this movie and had a hard time grasping my head around the plot. This story line was very difficult to follow and was needed to be searched on the Internet to discover the plot. In my opinion, the movie didn't answer any questions that were set up in the beginning ...
...plot and the characters of the story were to confusing that it was distracting from the effects included. Personally, I beleive that Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was a pointless movie in which there was no plot but just a series of random events that made transitions through the movie. ...

The most impressive martial artist in film.

Advantages: Amazing fight scenes and stunts, no wires so everything you see is for real.
Disadvantages: The plots aren't amazing but still watchable, not for people who don't like foreign films.

...Panna Rittikrai, starring the great Tony Jaa as Ting, and Thai comedian Petchtai Wongkamlao and George (Humlae). The thing with Tony Jaa is he doesn't have the screen presence on Bruce Lee, or the charisma of Jackie Chan, but what he can do is perform fight scenes better than anyone before him. It takes Jaa atleast twice as long as his predecessors to make a movie because of the one fact that makes him better then those before him - he doesn't use ...
...air for 30 seconds, just Tony Jaa doing incredible feats of agility and skill. If anyone doesn't believe he's not using wires I suggest you look up 'Tony Jaa high kick' on you tube and watch in amazement. The main story of the film is that a small poor Thai village the head of a ancient buddah statue named Ong Bak has been stolen. The statue is worshipped by the village's people so Ting decides he will find Ong Bak at any cost. This leads him to ...

Not the most compatible combination

Advantages: House of Flying Daggers
Disadvantages: Bulletproof Monk

...in my local DVD shop, House of Flying Daggers alone cost more than this combination. This makes no sense to me, so, ievitably, I bought this one. However, aside from being fo the same genre- Martial arts - these DVDs have nothing at all in common and so I was a little disappointed that they couldn't come up with a better combination. I have rated this product good because of the incredible film that is House of Flying Daggers. eautiful scenery, artistry, ...
...the quality or memorability of House of Flying Daggers. The stunts are less well choreographed, and the general standard of the film is brought much lower. It is more of comedy-action film and the American acting drags down the standard of this set somewhat. Still, on its own Bulletproof Monk isn't a below average film and it is definitely watchable. The value for money of this set is what sets the standard more than anything... bargain! ...

Bruce Lee-thal!

Advantages: Supreme martial arts choreography, humourous and most memorable final fight scene.
Disadvantages: If I HAD to nitpick, I suppose the comedy is quite basic

The Martial Arts genre has, ever since I started watching movies, been at the very top in my mind and has never lost its place to any other type of movie. My heart was stolen the first minute I watched Enter the Dragon, starring Bruce Lee, when I was 4 years old. It's an 18 certificate movie, but my parents were far from strict about prohibiting me from watching films of a violent nature. As I watched Bruce kick and punch his enemies all over the ...
...blockbusters for me, and over the last 20 years I have watched them all countless times and never lost an iota of enthusiasm for any. However, there is one film that surpasses the rest in storyline and quality of fight sequences and that is Way of The Dragon. Background ++++++++++ This film came at a major juncture in Bruce Lee's life. He had just featured as the leading man in two box office smash hits in China, The Big Boss and Fist of Fury. ...

Classic films!

Advantages: Great films, good commentary, great price
Disadvantages: Nothing...as long as you like Karate Kid films :P

...fell in love with it. The storyline is so-so, but the performances and characters were just so awesome - who could forget Mr. Miyagi! It's great for younger boys who can relate to Daniel, and the films also teach good morals. The special features for the box set are limited to some audio commentary by the main characters, but fortunately it's some good stuff. If you're a fan, its great to be able to see how they are in real life, and none of them ...
