ZU WARRIORS FROM MAGIC MOUNTAIN (1983)
Advantages: A magical fantasy with intriguing storyline and full of actions. Disadvantages: Very dated with complex storyline.
...sank.
The problem with Zu Warrior is that Tsui Hark is trying to fit one of the biggest novels into a 95 minute movies. This meant that a lot of actions were happening and many stories were interweaving, which perhaps, can be confusing at times. I believe that the time scale of the events in the film were approximately one month, yet I'm not sure if I was able to identify that in the movie. The pace of the stories was told so quickly that I felt ... ...think this film could be a disadvantage for audiences who knows little or nothing about the Chinese culture, as it could be confusing or it could be hard to grasps some of the concepts.
If you were to watch it today, you will probably find it more comical than scary as I did 15 years ago. The Special Effects are so dated, you cannot help but to laugh the cheesiness of it. However, you must appreciate the high standard achieved for 1983. I can not ...

TWINKLE TWINKLE MY LUCKY STARS (1985)
Advantages: The choreographed fights scenes won't let you down Disadvantages: Too many cast to concentrate or relate to. Too much libidos
...the same cast.
‘Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars (TTLS)’ is an action comedy, just like the two previous instalments. The mighty Sammo Hung directed the film as well as starring in it. The cast I remember seeing in ‘Winners and Sinners’ were Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, Stanley Fung, John Sham and Richard Ng. Eric Tsang was supposingly introduced in ‘My Lucky Stars’ and ‘Twinkles’ introduced a young and handsome character called ‘Pagodo’ (Michael Miu).
With ... ...assume that there would be outstanding fighting scenes without a double. This was true. If ‘Winners and Sinners’ is believed to be the funniest out of the instalments, then TTLS, in my opinion, is definitely more action orientated. Sammo Hung was able to choreograph several breathtaking fight scenes, which enable the trio to demonstrate their potential. This time, Hung was also able to introduce new talents within the fight, such as Andy Lau.
My ...

AVENGING FIST (2001)
Advantages: Good CGI with intriguing concept about the human's mind. Disadvantages: Lacking developments on characters and storylines.

TEKKEN
~~~~~~~
'The Avenging Fist' seems to have many English titles, however one that particularly stood out was 'Legend of Tekken'. It was said that this film was 'loosely' based on Tekken, the computer game. You can see some inspiration of Tekken -translated as Iron Fist, which would explain a lot about the Power Gloves that were used in the movie.
In some way, I can see the similarities between Nova and Jin Kazama, one of the main ... ...the basic storyline of 'The Avenging Fist' is intriguing and interesting. There is such a huge chunk of a human's brain that is not used and the idea of how a Power Glove can tap into these parts is fascinating. However, something has made this movie failed in my eyes. They have tried to spend the first 30 minutes showing the life of Nova and Belle, which I felt was too long. This meant a lot of events that have happened afterward have to be rushed, ...
Nice Pack
Advantages: Full of good action Disadvantages: hardly any
Like many Jackie Chan vehicles, is just as enjoyable even if seen in a non-English version. With a few exceptions, the plot simply serves to space out stunt and action scenes that are among the best--and funniest--Chan has ever done.As survivors of the pirate band vow revenge on Sergeant Dragon Mao (Jackie Chan). Back in Hong Kong, officials seek to reduce the power of corrupt Police Superintendent Chun (David Lam) by giving command of one of his ... ...standard Hong Kong film, Chan took every chance to push himself to the limit. The detailed sets, which recreate late 19th century Hong Kong in exquisite detail, have been used in numerous films since.
