Review of Jackie Chan - Project A (Special Collector's Edition) (Box Set) by
majeedkazi
Advantages: Full of good action
Disadvantages: hardly any
Like many Jackie Chan vehicles, is just as enjoyable even if seen in a non-English version. With a few exceptions, the plot simply serves to space out stunt and action scenes that are among the best--and funniest--Chan has ever done.As survivors of the pirate band vow revenge on Sergeant Dragon Mao (Jackie Chan). Back in Hong Kong, officials seek to reduce the power of corrupt Police Superintendent Chun (David Lam) by giving command of one of his ... ...standard Hong Kong film, Chan took every chance to push himself to the limit. The detailed sets, which recreate late 19th century Hong Kong in exquisite detail, have been used in numerous films since. As if anyone cares about the sets in a Jackie Chan movie...so go for this movie ...

Not the most compatible combination
Review of House Of Flying Daggers/Bulletproof Monk DVD by
huntressofthenight
Advantages: House of Flying Daggers
Disadvantages: Bulletproof Monk
...in my local DVD shop, House of Flying Daggers alone cost more than this combination. This makes no sense to me, so, ievitably, I bought this one. However, aside from being fo the same genre- Martial arts - these DVDs have nothing at all in common and so I was a little disappointed that they couldn't come up with a better combination. I have rated this product good because of the incredible film that is House of Flying Daggers. eautiful scenery, artistry, ... ...the quality or memorability of House of Flying Daggers. The stunts are less well choreographed, and the general standard of the film is brought much lower. It is more of comedy-action film and the American acting drags down the standard of this set somewhat. Still, on its own Bulletproof Monk isn't a below average film and it is definitely watchable. The value for money of this set is what sets the standard more than anything... bargain! ...

Bruce Lee-thal!
Review of The Way Of The Dragon (Special Collector's Edition) (Wide Screen) by
oxonian
Advantages: Supreme martial arts choreography, humourous and most memorable final fight scene.
Disadvantages: If I HAD to nitpick, I suppose the comedy is quite basic
The Martial Arts genre has, ever since I started watching movies, been at the very top in my mind and has never lost its place to any other type of movie. My heart was stolen the first minute I watched Enter the Dragon, starring Bruce Lee, when I was 4 years old. It's an 18 certificate movie, but my parents were far from strict about prohibiting me from watching films of a violent nature. As I watched Bruce kick and punch his enemies all over the ... ...blockbusters for me, and over the last 20 years I have watched them all countless times and never lost an iota of enthusiasm for any. However, there is one film that surpasses the rest in storyline and quality of fight sequences and that is Way of The Dragon.
Background
++++++++++
This film came at a major juncture in Bruce Lee's life. He had just featured as the leading man in two box office smash hits in China, The Big Boss and Fist of Fury. ...

Breath taking
Review of Dragons Forever (Platinum Edition) by
shintai88
Advantages: Stunt work, trio action, slapstick comedy
Disadvantages: Storyline slightly poor I guess, not the usual standards.
An early work from the Chan Hung and Biao Trio, the storyline here is a drug lord one, Jackie Chan is one of the city's finest Lawyers, and Sammo once again is the famous and brilliant chubby thief, and Yuan Biao is Jackies spying ninja friend, who all get involved with the owner of a fish farm who is sueing the neighbouring cloths factory for polluting the waters which is killing her precious fish, the Lawyer falls for the owners cousin and therefore ... ...in love with the owner risks his life to discover the terrible truth of the factory, while Yuan biao discovers Sammo's disappearence and saves him with Jackie.
Brilliant action from the trio, with an outstanding fight scene with jackie and some white karate boxer guy who was in I think meals on wheels. and some more stunt work from the three.
DVD Features: Original cantonese audio, along with the option of english dub, with english and a few european ...

TWINKLE TWINKLE MY LUCKY STARS (1985)
Review of Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars (Wide Screen) by
Moogiekupo
Advantages: The choreographed fights scenes won't let you down
Disadvantages: Too many cast to concentrate or relate to. Too much libidos
...the same cast.
‘Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars (TTLS)’ is an action comedy, just like the two previous instalments. The mighty Sammo Hung directed the film as well as starring in it. The cast I remember seeing in ‘Winners and Sinners’ were Jackie Chan, Yuen Biao, Stanley Fung, John Sham and Richard Ng. Eric Tsang was supposingly introduced in ‘My Lucky Stars’ and ‘Twinkles’ introduced a young and handsome character called ‘Pagodo’ (Michael Miu).
With ... ...assume that there would be outstanding fighting scenes without a double. This was true. If ‘Winners and Sinners’ is believed to be the funniest out of the instalments, then TTLS, in my opinion, is definitely more action orientated. Sammo Hung was able to choreograph several breathtaking fight scenes, which enable the trio to demonstrate their potential. This time, Hung was also able to introduce new talents within the fight, such as Andy Lau.
