Game of Death- terrible film great extras
Review of Game Of Death (Special Platinum Edition) (Wide Screen) by fightgear

Advantages: Bruces fight scenes, superb extras, good interview, excellent commentary
Disadvantages: terrible plot, bad taste film, terrible editing

...seminar as well as a Game of Death Revisited featurette. This goes into some detail about what lee wanted from this film and its troubled history. There is also a brief history or Lee's own fighting art, Jeet Kune Do which I tend to recommend to my students as being a decent intro to the art. These are the main extras although there are also some smaller titbits as well including picture collections. My view is that this is well worth getting if ...
...John Little, a version of Game of Death could be produced a million times better than this. This is truly an example of the worst possible taste and greed attached to a much loved movie legend. Get this film, laugh at the terrible plot line, the terrible attempts to get around the fact Bruce died before the story could be filmed and the tasteless use of his real funeral and watch it for the celebration of Bruce Lee at his best and most creative. ... Jet Lee is impressive as always
Review of Jet Li - The Legend 2 DVD by tayloa22

Advantages: combines great humour and Kung-Fu, like some Jackie Chan movies
Disadvantages: possibly looking a little dated now

...This film is classic early Jet Lee and the fight scenes etc are similar to those in Once Upon A Time In China. This film is based on a real rebel legend and Chinese hero called....you guessed it, Fong Sai Yuk. This period film has something great about it, other than just the great fighting. The realationship between Fong Sai Yuk {Jet Lee} and his mother is classically comedic. These two are like a chinese Abbot and Costello, and I wonder if Jackie ...
...This movie, as well as the first part are excellent movies that will have you laughing away and enthralled by the fight scenes. By the end of this movie you hate the bad guy so much you cannot wait to see Jet Lee kick the stuffing out of him. ... Read review

When Action meets Art
Review of Hero DVD by Agula

Advantages: Interesting, fast going, challenging.
Disadvantages: Requires concetration.

The first time I saw it I didn't understand as it was in Mandarin and subtitles in Swedish. A nameless warrior wants to kill an emperor. Isn't that ordinary? But when that warrior talks to the emperor introducing different versions of the assassins' plotting the simple story becomes intruiging. I was fascinated by the way the fights were filmed, by the play of colours and textures and by the way the producers/directors managed to create a complex ... Read review

Kickboxer
Review of Kickboxer (Wide Screen) by jonboy76

Advantages: Inspirational- easy watching
Disadvantages: cheesy- simple plot- but effective

Well where do I start with this film? This is one of those inspirational films like Karate kid that makes you want to get off the sofa and take up kickboxing or other martial arts or learn the splits. This film has a real basic but predictable story line - without ruining it too much you can guess the ending within the first ten minutes. The plot wait for it, if you don't want to see stop reading now; Is revenge- Vamme Dam's (Kurt Sloanne) brother ...
...but doesn't have the necessary skills so learns from a master and of course there's the love interest too.. This is basically an easy watching adult version of Karate Kid. Would recommend this especially as it's a classic in the true sense and so easy watching and somewhat inspirational and touching. Very cheap price and certainly worth it ... Read review

Jet Li's old news
Review of Ong Bak (Subtitled And Dubbed) (Platinum Edition) by galatico1

Advantages: The martial arts skills
Disadvantages: Dubbed

...so hero goes to rescue it but finds trouble and so on. A common story through most films, but none the less Ong Bak is a greatly respected film, which should be at least watched just to admire the stunts and martials arts skills of Tony Jaa if not purchased. ... Read review
