Breath taking
Review of Dragons Forever (Platinum Edition) by shintai88

Advantages: Stunt work, trio action, slapstick comedy
Disadvantages: Storyline slightly poor I guess, not the usual standards.

An early work from the Chan Hung and Biao Trio, the storyline here is a drug lord one, Jackie Chan is one of the city's finest Lawyers, and Sammo once again is the famous and brilliant chubby thief, and Yuan Biao is Jackies spying ninja friend, who all get involved with the owner of a fish farm who is sueing the neighbouring cloths factory for polluting the waters which is killing her precious fish, the Lawyer falls for the owners cousin and therefore ...
...in love with the owner risks his life to discover the terrible truth of the factory, while Yuan biao discovers Sammo's disappearence and saves him with Jackie. Brilliant action from the trio, with an outstanding fight scene with jackie and some white karate boxer guy who was in I think meals on wheels. and some more stunt work from the three. DVD Features: Original cantonese audio, along with the option of english dub, with english and a few european ... Read review

The pursuit of brother
Review of The Young Master (Subtitled and Dubbed) (Wide Screen) by jme_boybetterknow

Advantages: Death defying stunts and slapstick humour!
Disadvantages: Some scenes are pointless! and story is very ordinary

Following the legendary Drunken Master and Snake in the eagle's shadow, Jackie returned to typical Hong Kong classics. Jackie shows us some death defying stunts. Movie Synopsis There are two orphan brothers, one of which is played by Jackie Chan. Chan is constantly blamed for his brother's misdemeanors and his brother is consequently found out by their sensei (master) and immediately chucked out of the dojo (training for fighting school, where challenges ...
...the pursuit of his brother... Jackie was excellent in this movie and it showed how his slapstick humour and death defying stunts go hand in hand. One particular scene entered the record books, as it required over 300 takes. This not only shows Chan's development as an actor, but it also shows how patient he can be ( I would get too frustrated and quit.) In conclusion this movie must be seen only by Hong Kong humour loving movie watchers....!!!!!!! ... Read review

Miracles (Special collectors edition)
Review of Miracles (Special Collector's Edition) (Subtitled and Dubbed) (Wide Screen) by GR1PZ1LLA

Advantages: Perfect jackie chan film for the kids
Disadvantages: a tiny bit long winded for adults

I have no kids but know for sure this film is brilliant entertainment for them to watch. I know this because i first watched it when i was a teen and it remained one of the most vivid and memorable in my childhood. The only thing was it took me over ten years to remember the title, then purchasing it a few days later. The storyline is great although unrealistic for us now adults but hey this is a kids film! It bases Jackie chan's role as a mainland ...

Brainless Fun
Review of City Hunter (Subtitled and Dubbed) (Wide Screen) by Photosynthesis

Advantages: Great Fight scenes, some comedy moments
Disadvantages: Weak Plot, Dissapointing

Based on a popular manga, I was expecting a lot more from this movie. However for those expecting something similar to the manga, will be disappointed as this movie does not really follow it as such. Ryo (Jackie Chan) is paid to locate the daughter of his employer. He finds her on a ship, which is hijacked by terrorists, and Jackie must save the girl and the day. Its not exactly a unique storyline or a strong plot. But provides plenty of oppertunity ...
...someone who loves lots of fight scenes, slapstick comedy and some brainless fun for an hour or two, then I would recommend this film. But do not expect a strong story line or any intellectual enhancement from ths movie. Its full of cliches and cheesy moments, but also some funny and enjoyable moments. There are some great fight scenes and comedy moments, but its one of those movies easily forgotten. Its a film that a Jackie Chan fan would perhaps ... Read review

Sharp pointy thing for hire
Review of Shogun Assassin (Uncut Version) (Wide Screen) by tayloa22

Advantages: father son relationship, action, plot
Disadvantages: dated, some won't like the graphic violence

Shogun Assassin- A Review By Addy Steeped in History Shogun Assassin is a chambara film which means sword fight, and that's what this film offers up in abundance. The film was originally released in 1980 but due to the sheer graphic nature of the film it was banned for many years in this country, {1983-2001} and now has achieved a cult status and huge fan base. This jidaigeki {Period film} is set in Japan during the Edo period and is a film ...
...Beauty and the Beast Shogun Assassin really does combine elements of both beauty and beast. Allow me to elaborate. The beast ☺You may remember that at the beginning of the review I mentioned that this film was formerly banned. This is due to the graphic nature of the battle scenes. Not only is there regular geysers of blood shooting out from gaping wounds but there are images such as swords being buried into heads and heads being split ... Read review
