The most impressive martial artist in film.
Advantages: Amazing fight scenes and stunts, no wires so everything you see is for real. Disadvantages: The plots aren't amazing but still watchable, not for people who don't like foreign films.
...Panna Rittikrai, starring the great Tony Jaa as Ting, and Thai comedian Petchtai Wongkamlao and George (Humlae).
The thing with Tony Jaa is he doesn't have the screen presence on Bruce Lee, or the charisma of Jackie Chan, but what he can do is perform fight scenes better than anyone before him. It takes Jaa atleast twice as long as his predecessors to make a movie because of the one fact that makes him better then those before him - he doesn't use ... ...air for 30 seconds, just Tony Jaa doing incredible feats of agility and skill. If anyone doesn't believe he's not using wires I suggest you look up 'Tony Jaa high kick' on you tube and watch in amazement.
The main story of the film is that a small poor Thai village the head of a ancient buddah statue named Ong Bak has been stolen. The statue is worshipped by the village's people so Ting decides he will find Ong Bak at any cost. This leads him to ...

Daniel Son and Mr Miyagi in the Karate Kid!
Advantages: Superb film Disadvantages: Nothing
...with myself for sleeping till the afternoon on a sunny day, i decided to go for a walk in the sunshine around town. I had decided that morning that i was going to have a barbaque, few beers, couple of mates round, bit of music and a DVD. So i had the Barbaque, music, beers etc but nothing new to watch on DVD. So armed with £3 i started my search for a DVD that would be pleasing to everyones eyes.
I came across a non-commercialised store that sold ... ...floor 3 and started in the A sections
After literally 30 seconds a beam of light caught my eye, like when someone shines their watch in your face on a summers day, but no one else was there. How strange i thought, so i thought nothing of it and carried on with my search for that perfect DVD.
10 seconds later it happend again, so being curious i followed this beam of light, past the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I and J section on the come across a shiny ...

van dammes double impact
Advantages: a clever film and rather enjoyable Disadvantages: typical van damme acting but hard to play two people
as van damme films go this is probably the best he has done.playing to parts at once as brothers seperated at birth and reunited 25 years on is admirable given van dammes lack of acting quality.basically a story of two different brothers seperated as infants due to the brutal slaughter of their parents by chinese underworld gangsters.it revolves around a bridge that was constructed using the expertise of van dammes parents who were then executed ... ...the bridge profits over the years.their bodyguard at the time arrived to late to save his parents and with the babies being left in the car he grabbed one and headed off while the childminder made off through the bushes with the other.one was left and raised in hong kong while the other was taken and raised in france then bought to america to run a karate business.basically the bodyguard takes chad(van damme) to hong kong to find his brother alex(also ...

Utterly funny.
Advantages: Funny scene in Japanese Hotel ordering food, and taking advantage of female ICPO agent Disadvantages: none
One of my favourites, the trio are now in Tokyo Japan, Jackie and Yuan, are ICPO agents who are tracking a crime synicate in Tokyo, but Yuan is captured in the beginning in an Amusement park. Jackie therefore calls for reinforcements from his old orphan pal sammo. Sammo is in prison and is set free only to be arrested instantly, and is offered the job, he gathers all of his old friends who are criminals, and they are all set off on a mission with ... ...million hong kong dollars worth of Bonds, and there job is to infiltrate the crime synicate and to help locate their base. overall the movie like always with the trio is filled completely with Slapstick, with some brilliant acting from sammo's gang. A must watch film for all Jackie Chan fans and a great movie for all who are new to the Peking Opera Trio. Filled with original jokes and an original storyline, with ninja's and samurai's. ...

Ninja films made as they should be
Advantages: A mature serious approach to the genre Disadvantages: compared to some martial arts films now, looksa little dated
...serious element of realism. Whilst Enter the Ninja concentrates largely on Franco Nero's character, Sho Kosugi has a great part in the film as a disillusioned bad guy. The film is a more serious look into the world of ninjas and actually attempts to put a decent plot into the movie
Who's in it?

Susan George~ Mary Ann Flanders
Sho Kosugi~ Hasegawa
Alex Courtney~ Frank Landers
