Advantages: Great Fight scenes, some comedy moments

Based on a popular manga, I was expecting a lot more from this movie. However for those expecting something similar to the manga, will be disappointed as this movie does not really follow it as such. Ryo (Jackie Chan) is paid to locate the daughter of his employer. He finds her on a ship, which is hijacked by terrorists, and Jackie must save the girl and the day. Its not exactly a unique storyline or a strong plot. But provides plenty of oppertunity ...
...someone who loves lots of fight scenes, slapstick comedy and some brainless fun for an hour or two, then I would recommend this film. But do not expect a strong story line or any intellectual enhancement from ths movie. Its full of cliches and cheesy moments, but also some funny and enjoyable moments. Advantages: Cops and Marines brawl, Great action great stunts by Jackie Chan
Disadvantages: None really. its all slapstick and action which is great

Brilliant storyline, with great early stunts from the chinese trio from the peking opera school. Jackie Chan is an officier of the Hong Kong Marine's, Yuan Biao is a high ranking officier of the Hong Kong police, and Sammo Hung old friend of Jackies is one of Hong Kongs famed thieves. set in 1800's Hong Kong Waters have been infested with a strong fleet of pirates, however the marines have constantly failed to erraticated the pirates and therefore ...
...due to Jackies nature and belief of justice, he ends up quitting the police force so he could arrest a criminal. Which lead him to Sammo, who was hired to streal 100 rifles from the police, which was going to be sold to the pirates. The first time I saw it I didn't understand as it was in Mandarin and subtitles in Swedish. A nameless warrior wants to kill an emperor. Isn't that ordinary? But when that warrior talks to the emperor introducing different versions of the assassins' plotting the simple story becomes intruiging. Advantages: Inspirational- easy watching
Disadvantages: cheesy- simple plot- but effective

Well where do I start with this film? This is one of those inspirational films like Karate kid that makes you want to get off the sofa and take up kickboxing or other martial arts or learn the splits. This film has a real basic but predictable story line - without ruining it too much you can guess the ending within the first ten minutes. The plot wait for it, if you don't want to see stop reading now; Is revenge- Vamme Dam's (Kurt Sloanne) brother ...
...but doesn't have the necessary skills so learns from a master and of course there's the love interest too.. This is basically an easy watching adult version of Karate Kid. Would recommend this especially as it's a classic in the true sense and so easy watching and somewhat inspirational and touching. Very cheap price and certainly worth it ... Read review
