Classic films!
Review of The Karate Kid / The Karate Kid 2 / The Karate Kid 3 / The Next Karate Kid (Box Set) by fatboyjr

Advantages: Great films, good commentary, great price
Disadvantages: Nothing...as long as you like Karate Kid films :P

...fell in love with it. The storyline is so-so, but the performances and characters were just so awesome - who could forget Mr. Miyagi! It's great for younger boys who can relate to Daniel, and the films also teach good morals. The special features for the box set are limited to some audio commentary by the main characters, but fortunately it's some good stuff. If you're a fan, its great to be able to see how they are in real life, and none of them ... Read review

Nice Pack
Review of Jackie Chan - Project A (Special Collector's Edition) (Box Set) by majeedkazi

Advantages: Full of good action
Disadvantages: hardly any

Like many Jackie Chan vehicles, is just as enjoyable even if seen in a non-English version. With a few exceptions, the plot simply serves to space out stunt and action scenes that are among the best--and funniest--Chan has ever done.As survivors of the pirate band vow revenge on Sergeant Dragon Mao (Jackie Chan). Back in Hong Kong, officials seek to reduce the power of corrupt Police Superintendent Chun (David Lam) by giving command of one of his ...
...standard Hong Kong film, Chan took every chance to push himself to the limit. The detailed sets, which recreate late 19th century Hong Kong in exquisite detail, have been used in numerous films since. As if anyone cares about the sets in a Jackie Chan movie...so go for this movie ... Read review

I am Wong-Fei Hung from Fu-Shan
Review of Once Upon A Time In China - Complete Trilogy (Wide Screen) by tayloa22

Advantages: something for everyone, even women love these movies
Disadvantages: A little dated now, sometimes a little to tongue in cheek.

...portraying this person but the Once Upon A Time in China movies tell the legend the best. Some small elements of fantasy within some fight scenes but for the most part raw hard hitting martial arts. Films are better in cantonese with subtitles rather than cheesy dubbing. This box contains the first three of a total of six movies. The other three movies are titled Last Hero in China, Once upon a Time in China and America, {Kung-Fu shenanigans in ...
...6 {avoid this, this is the only one that doesn't star Jet Li and it's very poor} Much like Rocky through the course of the movies you see a love relationship blossom between Fei-Hung and Aunt Yee {no relative} The films also continue the story so you really build an affection for the charachters, such as Ah Soh, Ah Fu, porky, and Clubfoot. The films contain loads of humour and in parts are hysterical. I love ther part where Wong Fei-Hung woh happens ... Read review

Lone Wolf and Cub kick some serious butt
Review of Shogun Assassin (Strong Uncut Version) by tayloa22

Advantages: a decent samurai movie
Disadvantages: dubbing, sound quality in parts as well as picture quality

This is a classic old school samurai film. This film was previously banned in this country for it's violent graphic nature, but nowadays I guess we are made of sterner stuff. If you are easily distressed then this moive is not for you. There are very explicit scenes of swords being buried into heads, heads splitting in half, and more blood gushing than you can shake a stick at. The film centres around Ogami Itto, who is played by Tomisaburo Wakayama ...
...to be referred to has Lone wolf and Cub. Itto is the shoguns chief executioner and a powerful man. So much so that lord Retsudo soon wants him dead out of sheer fear. In the initial attack Itto's wife is slain, and Itto decides to dedicate his life to taking the life of lord Retsudo and all those close to him, {one way of getting rid of the existential angst i guess} In a scene at this point he places a ball on the floor and a sword and he makes ... Wish i could do that
Review of Tony Jaa Box Set - Ong-Bak/Warrior King (Collectors Editions) (Box Set) by culloty21

Advantages: Some of the most amazing martial arts scenes ever filmed
Disadvantages: tony jaa only speaks in tai

...and in all honesty if tony spoke in english he would be able to pull of a better story line to go with his filmes and it would give the audience more time to watch the film and praise tony jaa but instead we spend most of our time reading the subtitles. All in all the box set is a definate must buy for any martial arts fan and anyone who just wants a thrill ride. ... Read review
