Another typical football cock-up DVD with the usual few clips of hilarious gaffs around the world. I stress the word 'another' and 'usual' here because there are loads of similar DVDs and they all seem to show the same clips.
The DVD
The total feature length is a feeble 1 hour 3 minutes (they probably added the extra 3 minutes to make to sound a lot longer than it actually is). It contains own goals, bad misses, goalkeeping mistakes, bad refereeing and also many pointless clips of Mark and Lard (whoever they are) acting like total idiots. Some sketches are quite funny but most of them are pointless and are in there to try and extend the length of this DVD. In all, there is probably only about 30 minutes of football action.
This DVD has been rated a PG because it contains moderate violence and sex references - it should maybe even be higher (e.g. 12A) because anything with sex references should be -although this DVD may have been created before 12A was introduced.
Same old, Same old
As with all football DVDs of this
nature (examples are Own Goals and Gaffs, Ian Wright's It Really Shouldn't Happen to a Footballer,
David Seaman's Jeepers Keepers... the list goes on), the same few, but very funny clips, are shown over and over again. They are hilarious, but they are certainly not exclusive - I can guarantee that no clip will be exclusive to one particular football DVD.
Mark and Lard
I think Mark and Lard just decided to jump on the footballing cock-up bandwagon and make their own DVD to try and make money. To be fair, they probably did - but they are still total imbeciles. They act like football hooligans and nutcases throughout which doesn't send out a particularly great message to the younger generation. They are seen drinking beer and even playing with guns (they even shoot one another). This is pretty disgraceful and just totally sends out the wrong messages. To get a decent image of their behaviour, just look on the front on the DVD.
More info
The DVD case has a quote on the front cover by Marc Riley stating "Simply the best football video around". THIS IS A LOAD OF RUBBISH. To be perfectly honest, I think the best football videos of this kind are Own Goals and Gaffs and More Own Goals and Gaffs. They were the original DVDs of their kind (or the
first I remember anyway) and because it was a huge success, people like Mark and Lard decided to make their own with a few new clips and the rest the same and pretend that their DVD was brilliant and completely original - I am sorry Marc Riley but you are totally wrong.
Overall
If you haven't seen any DVDs of this kind then it would certainly be worth viewing - actually you may as well buy Own Goals and Gaffs and More Own Goals and Gaffs because they are much better. Mark and Lard are absolute headbangers who shouldn't be allowed on TV - they have blatantly copied the idea from others and have tried to make it even funnier with their pointless sketches between clips. Sorry Mark and Lard but I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend this DVD to potential buyers (even if you can buy it 2nd hand for 14p).
