After the furore and commercial, if not critical, success of The Da Vinci Code, it was inevitable that Angels and Demons would be next on Ron Howard?s ?to do? list. Chronologically Robert Langdon?s first outing , but here implied as a sequel, it shares all of the violent, conspiracy theory plot lines of its predecessor. Here though the story is slightly less controversial and in many ways shows the Vatican in a very sympathetic light. Rather than being the enemy this time round, they are the client and any moral message seems to be that a bad guy is a bad guy, whomever they may be working for.

As a relative newcomer toManchesterin recent months, I was extremely happy to find out about the City Card scheme from a work mate. We were meeting clients for lunch in the city centre, and he passed me the City Card membership guide and asked me to book a restaurant of my choice from the list.
When I asked him what it was all about he revealed that you use the City Card to get discounts at restaurants around the city. Upon further investigation on the website I noticed that there were many other benefits included in the membership including the following
@Bar offers (normally 25-50% range, or two for one on drinks / food etc)
@Cinema, comedy and theatre tickets at 2 for price of 1
@Upto £10 per month off gym membership at several good health clubs around town
@25-50% off at some really good salons and health spas ...

As those of you who have been reading my 'about me' information will know, we have recently had to stay inManchesterto be near my mom who had to go into Manchester Royal Infirmary for an operation, which never happened as she wasn't strong enough to survive the anaesthetic but that's another story.
As I had a lot of arrangements to make Dave decided to take over and find us a suitable hotel for the duration. He wanted to find something really nice but at a reasonable price as this was likely to be the nearest either of us would get to a holiday this year as I am full time carer to mom who has dementia.
Anyway after much searching he finally found The Days Hotel at the end of Sackville Street nearest to the Mancunian Way and thus nearest to the Manchester Royal Infirmary.
