I first saw Maid In Manhattan a few months ago when it was on the television. I loved the film so much that I decided to purchase a copy of the DVD. Maid In Manhattan is an American romantic comedy film released in 2002. This film was directed by Wayne Wang and stars singer/actress Jennifer Lopez.. Running time of this movie is one hundred and five minutes (fifteen minutes under two hours). This movie is a PG.
Marisa is a single mother. She is struggling financially and so takes up a job working as a maid in a hotel. Whilst cleaning a room , she tries on a coat , which the rich lady who owns the coat has asked them to return it to the store for her. Whilst Marisa is wearing the coat , she is mistaken for the lady who owns it. What happens when she meets a man who thinks she is the woman ? Watch Maid In Manhattan to find out!
I had enjoyed the movie ?Jack? which Jennifer Lopez starred in and thought her acting was brilliant and so I was looking forward to seeing her acting in this movie. All the actors and actresses played their parts really well , although it was Lopez who stood out for me! Being a fan of Lopez , I know quite a bit about her ?private life? having read lots of celebrity magazines and so on , so I had expected , whilst watching this movie to only see Lopez as the person she is and not the character she played , although I found her completely convincing. Whilst watching the whole movie , I never thought once ?oh she?s well rich? , I actually saw her as the poor single mother , which is odd because usually if I?m a fan of an actor/actress (in real life) , I think of them as the person they are rather than the characters they play in films!
I love the plot of this film. It is so different to that of any other movie I have seen. The film wasn?t predictable at all , yet it wasn?t too difficult to follow which was good , because it meant I could just sit back and relax while still being able to ?keep up? with the movie. I think that this film is perfect for a girlie night in because of it?s ?sweet and romantic? nature. In fact this story reminds me a bit of a more realistic version of the fairytale story Cinderella. Lopez?s co-star was quite hot too , so it was nice to have some eye-candy to look at throughout the film!
