I always enjoy Jennifer Lopez’s films. They are complete remarkable films for the whole family and young teenagers. The plot consists of Jennifer Lopez playing a maid at a first class hotel, Marisa Ventura who falls in love with a handsome heir to a political dynasty, Christopher Marshall who believes that she is a another rich hotel guest. However after falling for Christopher, Marisa has to pretend to be someone she’s not, but when her true identify is revealed there worlds are so different they that they are drifted apart, but could a rich man fall in love with a maid? This film is mainly for you teenagers. It made my laugh and smile through the film, which became annoying probably to other people.
This film was directed by one of my favourite directors, this film is similar to other films he has directed as it has good comedy and humour in, such as last holiday.
After being released in the UK on the 7th march 2003, and including one of my favourite singers this film was a must see for me, and I would recommend it to others who love a god chick flick. However even through I thought highly of the film, others may not as the film was nominated for 7 awards such as favourite move actress and outstanding actress in motion picture, but the film didn’t win any of these awards. But it was nominated for worst actress and lost, which I was very pleased about.
This remarkable story was written by John Hughes who has wrote many other movie success stories like Flubber and Home Alone 2.
The casting of the film was to a degree was good, Jennifer Lopez played her character to perfection, as usual therefore leading some casting ideas positive, however other castings I did not agree with, Ralph Fiennes who plays Chris Marshall was completely different for the character, and didn’t play the character well as I never thought that he really go into the role. He was completely awful, which was a disappointment to the film; I would really have preferred a Brad Pitt or George Clooney. But not all dreams can come true.
The film lasted roughly about just over 100 mins, which was too short, I didn’t really understand the plot of the story as first, being a simple plot I assumed through the film there would be more or a twist, again I was disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this film for men as it’s a chick flick, or even buying it for a female partner, because they will make you watch it.
