As a little girl I remember settling down to watch this great epic on BBC2 on a Saturday afternoon with the whole family. My whole family would sit there glued to the telly for 40 -45 minutes every week while me, being small would dip in and out through the first quarter and then get into it as it became more and more interesting every week and seemed like this serial would never end and it was long.
We had always wanted to get the DVD box set the full version when it was released but found it too pricey so maybe a year or so later when we found it at a special price on Amazon we purchased it. Since the serial was produced in 1988 I was not expecting the picture quality to be excellent however its not bad compared to the other Indian box sets I have purchased which can be fuzzy at times or contain dodgy discs.
Its 16 discs containing 94 episodes, just love the presentation box it comes in divided into sections dependent on the DVD content and it also tells you what each episode is about which is useful if you forget what episode you were on previously.
