I am a self confessed Winnie the Pooh fan so I am loving the fact that my daughter is also enchanted by this lovable bear and his group of friends!

The stories...

Well without giving too much away (what would be the point in you watching if I told all?) this dvd is split into four different tales, each revolving around the theme of sharing. The title of this collection of stories is Little Things Mean a Lot, the stories promote sharing and caring.
The first tale is called 'The wishing bear' and involves Pooh trying to make all his friends wishes come true when he thinks that he has worn Christopher Robin's wishing star out, in reality it has just gone behind a cloud but Pooh is unaware of this being the fluffy brained bear that he is. It is a delightful story that follows him endeavouring to do all that he can in order to please his friends due to his caring nature. The idea is cute and the imagery even cuter, especially when Pooh dresses up as a star and climbs the tree!
The second tale revolves around Pooh and Rabbit, Pooh is adamant that his gift to Rabbit should be a glorious pot of honey, despite what Rabbit wants... the outcome of this being that Pooh learns to share and take into consideration what those around him want.
The third story is quite funny as the ever solemn Eeyore takes Rabbits place and learns to garden with fairly hilarious outcomes, including poor Piglet dressing as a plant and standing in a plant pot full of mud, I must admit, rather sadly, that this tale even made me laugh out loud, much to my husband's dismay. (I blame the tiredness from waking in the night to see to my daughter-it frazzles your brain!!)
The fourth and final story follows the charming group of friends as they fear rejection by Christopher Robin due to the arrival of a new toy, as usual they are mistaken, learn a lesson and all is resolved and peace and harmony returns to the hundred acre wood.

The lesson, the quality and the magic...

As always Disney excels itself with fantastic use of drawing and colour bringing the Hundred Acre wood and it's inhabitants to life.
The music is engaging throughout with several catchy tunes that will unfortunately most probably remain ingrained in your sub-concious for about a week so that you find yourself humming to the pasta sauce in the middle of Tesco! (Yes folks, I am, sad to say, speaking from experience!) The only thing I did not like about this dvd was the theme tune as it differs from the original one that I remember as a child, but that is just me being picky, it is in all truthfullness just as good as the one I am used to!
The stories are linked together by pop-up-style storybook scenes that are entertaining and cute in their own right and much more interesting than just fading into black or the next story. Overall I feel this dvd is a great one to watch as a family or while spending quality time with little ones, the messages about caring and sharing are clear and encouraging and a great step towards learning how to treat others around us.
