This film has a rating U family rating which means its a film the whole family can enjoy.
Although most films of this rating are geared towards the younger generations of children this is not. With humour for adults and for kids everyone is guaranteed to laugh through this animated film.
This film stars the voices of Ben stiller (Alex the lion), David Schwimmer (melmon the giraffe), Jada pinkett smith (gloria the hippo) and chris rock (marty the zebra).
This film is about these group of animals in Central Park zoo. they are pampared but this life doesn't suit all the animals. Marty celebrates his birthday and finds out that the penguins are planning to escape to go "home", he decides he wants to go.
He confides his longing to go home to the other animals but they believe that they have talked him out of it until they find out Marty has escaped. The rest of the animals try to find him but as they do they are all captured.
As luck would have it for Marty, they are 'punished' by being sent home. They are to be shipped there but the ship is taken over by the penguins and they manage to sink the boat.
All the animals end up washed upon the shore of madagascar where they find themselves reverting to wild animals ( a great laugh when Alex gets so hungry he wants to eat Marty).
They meet crazy creatures with big hats (Lemurs) and have a great adventure.
Now this is as far as i can go without spoiling the ending. But believe me this is a great family film. Although intended for children it is perhaps more an adult film.
The soundtrack to accompany this film includes great songs such as: 1. Best friends 2. I like to move it 3. Hawaii 5-0 4. Boogie wonderland 5. Whacked out conspiricy 6. I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good?
