The was the first in the Mad Max trilogy of films. It was the one to launch Mel Gibson's career. He played the maverick road cop who did battle with the marauding biker gangs.
The movie was low budget but an excellant plot and superb casting brought this movie to life. The characters and action sequences far weighed the sequel and the dire Hollywood "Beyond The Thunderdome" with Tina Turner was dreadful.
The original and the best of the three. I've seen it 14 times now but never still enjoy watching it.
