Advantages: Fast Paced, Several Suspects Disadvantages: -
work well together and the Hoag achieves a great working atmosphere between the two which captures the banter that keeps police officers going.
Prior Bad Acts begins with the murder of a mother and two foster children who have been hanged in a basement amidst a tornado in Minneapolis. The culprit in the police officers eyes is Karl Dahl a man with previous convictions for lesser crimes than murder. Dahl has been locked up but the investigation into the murders led to the leading investigator having a breakdown and being confined to a desk. Judge Moore causes public outcry by declaring that Dahl?s prior bad acts cannot be brought into the courtroom as part of the criminal trial against him as they would form a bias on the case.
As a result of this verdict Judge Moore is attacked and a brawl starts in the prison holding Dahl. With both ...
WHAT IS IT ABOUT:
Robert De Niro stars as Vincent Lamarca, a tough cop whose investigation into a recent murder brings him to the door of his drug addict son.

As a De Niro fan, I have to say that this is an oddly poignant movie from the king of acting. At first glance it has all the appearance of a low budget, throw away film that has nothing going for it except the big man's name, but it's actually pretty good.

Advantages: Some nice performances. Disadvantages: Some dreadful turns, a lack of directorial talent and a patchy script.
have no basis for how one might behave if you were one of them. Because each story is so short, you don't get to know the people and that makes it difficult to empathise with them. The dialogue is often too studied and lacks the ring of authenticity. It's as though some of the characters have thought about what they're going to say for too long before they open their mouths, while others come out with stream of consciousness that degenerates into nonsense.
The large ensemble cast showcases some very strong and some absolutely appalling performances. Andrew Lincoln gives a consistent if one-dimensional turn as a man caught looking at another woman's underwear by his wife. Holly Aird is his forthright, wind-up merchant spouse that isn't really allowed to do anything other than act as a plot device. Sophie Okonedo gives a bizarre ...
