Holland". Quite frankly, ever since this board-sweeping performance by Manchester's gift to Britfunk there's been little to compete with it in terms of sheer "must-see-againness", and now here it is, the kind of stuff the crisp'n'clean DVD format was surely invented for. All the hits are here, including the title track, "Angel Street" and "Movin' On Up", while the stonking percussion break in "Sight for Sore Eyes" is reason enough in itself to buy this item. The overall standards here are high enough to allow us to forgive the inclusion of the ghastly-but-inevitable "Search for the Hero", buried as it is in the no-person's land between the middle of the concert and the finale. There's also a choir and a suitably zippy string section (dimly referred to as a "mini-orchestra" on the cover blurb), and Holland gets to join in a couple of times, perfectly at ease as ever.--Roger Thomas

OneNight At McCools is one of those movies that doesn't have a lot of hype but has a decent cast whihc makes it a viable alternative when Bridget Jones is sold out for your preferred showing.
The story revolves around three men and one trashy femme fatale named Jewel Valentine (Liv Tyler). The film starts by seeing the three men each recounting their stories to somebody. Bartender Randy (Matt Dillon) tells his story to a sleazy hitman with an unmistakable quiff (Micheal Douglas). Detective Dehling (John Goodman) confesses all to a sex starved priest while Carl a lawyer (Paul Reiser) and cousin of Randy pours his mind out to a therapist. Basically these three men all become anamoured with Jewel to the point where they do things they wouldn't normally do for the sake of winning her affections. . Just a few weeks ago, it was released on DVD; I had never heard it before, and I was interested when I noticed it had Lesley Ann Warren, who I think is a very underrated actress. Turns out, this would mark the former Miss America winner's first starring film, after an Academy Award-nominated performance in Blake Edwards' VICTOR/VICTORIA.
The truth is that A NIGHTINHEAVEN is not a very good film, and I may be slightly overprasing it here; though I did like it more than FATAL ATTRACTION, the last film I wrote a review on, and I wanted to give it a slightly better rating. Having wrapped filming on Trouble In Mind, Alan Rudolph went to work on his next movie.
