brother, MATT TRAKKER uncovers an international organisation known as VENOM, dedicated to nefarious criminal activities in every corner of the world. Driven by his quest to know the truth about his brother’s demise, Matt gathers together a number of friends who, like himself, are ordinary people who possess extraordinary talents, and creates MASK. Their objective: to destroy VENOM and its mastermind, the abominable MILES MAYHEM. Joined by his young son SCOTT and his faithful robot T-BOB, Matt’s conspirators in MASK include: BRUCE SATO, an inventor of outlandish children’s toys who serves as MASK’s engineer and mechanic; HONDO MacLEAN, an ordinary history teacher whose courage and fearlessness make him an integral part of MASK; BUDDY HAWKS, garage mechanic; BRAD TURNER, an outrageous rock musician; ALEX SECTOR, a computer expert who, by day, runs a nondescript pet shop; DUSTY HAYES, a pizza vendor whose specialty is auto and marine stunt driving, and the beautiful GLORIA BAKER, a driving school instructor whose superior mastery of the martial arts makes her a lethal weapon. To keep their identities secret, each member of MASK wears a mask which also provides them with extraordinary powers, including holographic projection, remote control lasers and the MASK agents even have the ability to transform their vehicles into watercrafts and planes. Armed with their super-powered masks and their desire to make the world a safer place, MASK is relentless in its quest against VENOM, and will never rest until Miles Mayhem is brought to justice for his crimes against humanity

all 11 seasons of this multi-Emmy Award-winning series.Adapted for television by legendary comedy writer Larry Gelbart, the series has long since supplanted Robert Altman's film in the public's consciousness. Life and death at a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War doesn't seem like ripe fodder for a comedy series, butM*A*S*Hmasterfully balanced laughter and tears (less so in its later, more preachy seasons). It often does play better without a laugh track (a viewing option for all episodes). During its run,M*A*S*Hsurvived several delicate operations, including the departure of Gelbart after season 4 and the loss of core ensemble members McLean Stevenson as Col. Henry Blake and Wayne Rogers as Trapper John (after season 3), Larry Linville as Frank Burns (after season 5) and Gary Burghoff (a veteran of the original film) as Radar (after season 8). The show thrived with the introduction of some new blood, Henry Morgan as "regular Army" Col. Potter and Mike Farrell as compassionate BJ (season 4) and David Ogden Stiers as elitist Charles Emerson Winchester III (season 6).M*A*S*Hwas honored with the prestigious Peabody Award "for the depth of its humour and the manner in which comedy is used to lift the spirit and, as well, to offer a profound statement on the nature of war." This was a sitcom that did not always leave you laughing, as witness the classic season 3 episode "Abyssinia, Henry." And throughout its run,M*A*S*Hbroke the sitcom mould with several episodes, including "The Interview" (season 4), in which Clete Roberts interviews the staff of the 4077th, "Point of View" (season 7), subjectively seen through the eyes of a wounded soldier and "Life Time" (season 8), which unfolds in real time.M*A*S*Hboasted one of television's greatest ensembles, fully embodied characters who each became icons, most notably Alan Alda, who served with distinction as Hawkeye, the series' soul and conscience. But a special salute to Loretta Switt, whose Margaret Houlihan went from "Hot Lips" to nobody's pushover. From the "Pilot" to the feature-length finale, "Goodbye, Farewell&Amen," still the most-watched episode in history, this essential (but not so much if you bought the individual season sets) collection honours one of television's greatest half-hours.--Donald Liebenson

Admittedly this doesn't seem the best place to set a comedy series, but this turns out to be a barrel of laughs with some well written sly wit and one liners that really make the show what it is. For me the best of the series occurred earlier on, when the main characters were still intact, but although the later ones focuses more on the drama elements of the series, but they are still good.
The main characters are Trapper and Hawkeye, two top notch surgeons staying in the same tent who work well together and the comedy interaction between them is great, mocking some of the other surgeons and generally making this a hoot. The other main characters after them are Hawkeye, the short but quick corporal, Henry Blake, the man in charge of the rabble of surgeons, Frank Burns, another surgeon that Trapper and Hawkeye love to rub up the wrong way, Margaret Houlihan, Burns' not so secret love interest, Klinger, a man intent on escaping the war by pretending to be crazy (check out the women's clothing) and John Mulcahy, the camp priest. This unlikely collection of people make up the main part of the show and for this series are pretty much the only main characters.
The episodes focus on various events in the life of the camp, from new wounded in from the front to poker games; it is all here presented on three great disks. These are truly the best presentation of the series so far, but I often wonder whether or not it would have been beneficial to have included an extra disk of cast interviews and bonus scenes etcetera, but then this often doesn't feel necessary, and I would have probably only watched it once and then left it alone. But what you're getting here are 24 classic episodes from the pilot up to Showtime, which is basically a mixture of a couple of stories tied together.
The comedy often seems dated, but it is still funny today and the age of this, around 35 years old, should not put you off, as this type of comedy is timeless, although knowledge of some events and people in the war wouldn't hurt, as the name dropping only adds to the fun. Another fun thing to do whilst watching is look for errors, such as historical and continuation ones, the classic being Henry calling his wide by different names. But this may not appeal to everyone, so do as you will, but have fun doing it.
Overall, this is a great series of a great show, which ran for 11 seasons, taking in around 250 episodes, each one of them a gem. But you have to start somewhere, and whether you have only ever caught glimpses of this on Paramount Comedy or watched the series when they originally were aired, I would recommend you buy these series for hours of enjoyment. The first season is on of the best and it is where I began, so check it out as your first port of call for MASH.
Advantages: A good mix of humour and seriousness Disadvantages: I can't find any
M*A*S*H (Mobile Army Surgical hospital) was a television series that ran for eleven seasons between 1973 and 1983. The series was set in the Korean War and based around the oddball characters that served in the 4077th MASH. The series itself fits into the category of black comedy set in the Korean War. For this reason the series is careful to not make too much too much of a joke about sensitive issues and so does make statements about certain things ... ...of emphasis on it without making the entire show too serious. It is probably the best place here to mention that this series does not insinuate ever that war or the situations is causes is a funny thing or that it is comedic in any way shape or form. It simply highlights how in the toughest of situations it is often the humour of those that remain that prevails the longest. Sort of along the 'they can crush us but they'll never crush our spirit' ...

War is not funny. It is many things, but war itself is not funny. But even in the most horrible of places and times that people in war find themselves in, there are funny moments. It is these moments that MASH brings so poignantly to our screens, and which highlight the frailties and humanity of those people caught up in war, as well as the futility, horror, and outright stubbornness they often encounter. This programme first aired in the US in 1972, ... ...same name. America was still suffering from Vietnam, and many critics said this would not allow the show to succeed. But succeed it did, and it became a TV legend of epic proportions.
Before I discuss the show's premise and all the episode titles and all that jazz, I feel it important to say that this background probably provided the show with a good bit of its tone. Its fans were anti war believers, as well as soldiers who still served. My own ...

M*A*S*H is based on a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War. I didn't think I would like this as its quite an old series and it was first broadcast in 1972 and I didn't enter the world for some 6 years after, it never really appealed to me. However, my partner loves it, so though I would give it a try.
The first season primarily introduces you to the characters in the show from the Colonel Henry Blake to Chief Surgeon Hawkeye Pearce ... ...made via black humour to show the team spirit that was imperative for a M*A*S*H unit to function. We are given glimpses into the main characters personal lives and their personalites, for example, Hawkeye's admiration for his father and for the nurses and Frank's (Surgeon) utter childish behaviour and desire to please Hotlips (Chief Nurse) in any way he could. Radar is the youngest on the base and his naivety of the whole situation is real, yet at ...

This is a three disc collectors edition of the first season of M*A*S*H, a comedy based on a MASH camp (4077) in the Korean war. The first disc opens with 'M*A*S*H - The Pilot' in which we meet the characters, including Captains Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper McIntyre (the camp's sex-driven practical jokers), Majors Frank Burns and Margaret 'Hot Lips' Hoolihan (a strictly military head nurse and her wimpy lover), Corporal Radar O-Reily and Colonel Henry ... ...of the most well-known aspects of the series has to be the theme tune - Suicide is Painless. Over the 3 discs are 24 episodes of good clean comedy - the rating is PG and there is very little that could possibly offend (a little sexual innuendo, but most would go over the head of the average child). Each episode is half an hour, which means that it's really easy to fit one into even the busiest of schedules. Highly recommended! ...

This is the popular TV Series that started in 1972 and finished in 1983, 34 discs and lot's and lot's of laughs along the way.
One of the most successful TV sitcoms produced, covering the worst of America's Wars (sorry, Police action). The Korean war in the 1950's.
The Story.....
The war is raging 3 miles from the M*A*S*H (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital), and all sorts of problems and catastrophes are going on at the good old 4077th.
The unit is run by Colonel (Dr) Henry Blake (series1 - 3) and then Colonel Sherman T Potter (series 4 -11), both commanders are vastly different, but the comic events that each of the characters portray, are about equal - both trying to run a unit under extreme conditions, whilst keeping the men and women happy, care free and most of all sane......
The two Doctors of the hour, Dr?s Benjamin ...
